Doesnt surprise me about Ivey. I used to see him at the Taj all the time when he was underage borrowing 20 bucks from people to play 1-3 stud. Mickleson is a big sport bettor. He won like 700k a decade ago putting a futures bet on the ravens to win the super bowl when he was in vegas the summer before the 2000 season.

Makes for a good story. The big bookmakers in Costa Rica claim Billy's beards were betting New Orleans taking only a small position. In that espn the mag article, they showed him in his office at home. He had 5 monitors going playing high stakes online poker on each. He will play online all day and make ridiculous money. When you earn your money like that, i imagine holds a little less value to you then if you work your ass of for it. 2 million is still 2 million though.

Too much is being made about this 1 of 10,000 wagering opportunities bettors have throughout the year. Enough is enough. I think by focusing on this, it makes others feel bettor about their $500 loss perhaps. These guys don't think about the money like we do. It's some inate quality that they have either always had or developed. If another $2 mill type bet comes along tomorrow, they would do it all over again. Phil Ivey is "flush" from the poker boom. Full Tilt is a cash cow.

It is known that Billy Walters is banned from betting in most casinos and Ivey could easily get 7 fig bets whenever he wants. Ivey prolly got a share or something of the bet if it was for Walters, its not certain as Ivey is very private. Also he makes a ton in his share from FTP, could care less what he wins/loses at dice.
