LT was correct when he stated the public pounded the Saints ML today. It would have been better if the Colts won but didn't cover.

I cashed A LOT of tickets after the game, and these people made money today. In general, people don't seem to realize how little we make and how necessary tips are to us. We don't solicit with any kind of tip jar on the counter, but when you cash a grand or two or seven, even if it's just a dollar we honestly appreciate it. I support myself, and it's tough all over, I know that. I find a way to go without quite often.

As writers we put up with a lot of abuse. Offbeat questions, drink ticket demands, obnoxious loudness, lewd comments, insults, bad odors, sweaty dollars from bras, you name it. Today just wasn't a great day to be a writer at my book. But I would like to tell people that if you see a sports writer on a regular basis, and they are courteous, do their job properly, turn on the game you ask for, take an extra second to ask how you are, just realize they don't make a lot and take care of them once in a while when you win.

      Thank you Melia.

      Welcome to the forum.

A completely different perspective, than what I am use to seeing around here.
      I kinda like it.
I look forward to more posts, by you, and how the workday goes for you at the sportsbook.

      Personally, I'm doing everything online.
I Don't take trips to Vegas.
So this perspective is totally different and interesting to me.

I work as a waiter and a bartender, so I can relate to customer service.
      Yeah, it can get brutal.

            hey melia, welcome

I am sorry to sound ignorant, but what exactly is your job? I dont think i am aware of what it is exactly that you do but I do understand where you are coming from, I dont like people that don't tip the person that provides them with a good service.

All that "smart" money was on Indy and the over. I think the books made a killing, which is a way to remember that the next time you're in Vegas and you're overwhelmed by all the glitz and glamor, tell yourself, "They didn't build all this with their own money."

Pinny might have gotten action on indy for 2nd half but I believe they lost alot of money on saints ATS. They were begging for money on colts -4.5 before game, probably didn't get it.

Vast majority of the late public money in vegas was HUGE on the saints ml, saints ats, and over. Sharps were on colts ml and under. Best case scenario for vegas would have been a close colts win and under.

The SBR Sportsbook did not have a huge win but did have a good day. Players won vs the house on props and there was quite a bit of New Orleans +170 on the Money Line.

THEY ALSO HAD A PROP WHERE SAINTS WAS 10 TO 1 TO WIN BY 13-16. tHEY TOOK A BIG LOSS ON THIS ODD TOO. BUT HE SAID THEY WERE SWEATING THAT THE GAME WOULDNT GO INTO OVERTIME. IF THE GAME DID, THEY WOULD OF TAKING A POUNDING. PLUS THEY ALSO TOOK A BEATING ON BUSH'S RUSHING ATTEMPTS WHICH WAS OVER/UNDER 4.5

Hard to duke people or expect them to when you are playing from behind, as is the case with most players. The house has all the money.

The Vegas books on the Strip did very well. They hit on a lot of prop plays, and the total.
