New York / San Antonio OVER 216.5
San Antonio has Wemby, who can both defend and score, and New York has KAT, who (according to most NBA metrics) is the worst rim protector in the league.
Wemby (IMO) is primed for a monster night.

Brunson will get his buckets, no doubt, KAT should produce some on offense, and the Knicks' ancillary players are more than capable.
I'm expecting an 118-111 game (give or take)

    Best bet
    SAS/NYK OVER 216.5

Brunson is going to have a terrible series Nasher. Did you see how Castle guarded SGA? The Spurs have Castle, Harper and Vassell who are elite defenders. Wemby won’t be able to sag the paint as much because KAT can shoot 3s but Brunson ain’t beating the Spurs in this series.

I think NY starts off slow like they did vs Cleveland. I love Spurs -5 first half. I think the over may be close. It’ll go over if NY can hit their 3s.

The Knicks have been playing really well but this Spurs team has some young dawgs. Their inexperience may be their death knell but they also don’t know what they don’t know. They either lose in 6 or win in 5. I’m leaning Spurs in 5.

            ^

You know this, I'm originally from NJ, born and raised 20 miles from NYC.

I was working in IT in midtown, swing shift, 3 p.m. to 11 p.m., hanging out in the East Village, not the fancy-pants yuppified West (Greenwich) Village, screw that, nothing beats the nasty ass Dive Bars in what the locals call "Alphabet City."

But I digress, I'm the King of digression, not capable of making a long story short.
Our favorite "Alphabet City" Dive Bar was a place called "Downtown Beirut," up First Avenue, a few blocks from the Hells Angels bar and **.
The 1999 NBA Finals were insane, dude, I got caught up in all that insanity, and I was a (being born and raised in NJ) a Devils and NJ Nets fan. Seriously, there were bikers and biker chicks on one side of the bar. I used to drink with some of the hospital workers, Con Edison cable layers...everybody just got along.
The "Go New York, Go New York Go" chants got really annoying in a hurry, though.
In 1999, the East Village was the Wild, Wild West.
New York City's final frontier, before Star(four)Bucks, and sushi bars killed everything.

I'm not a Knicks or Rangers fan for one reason and one reason only.
            James Dolan,
He's a NYC blowhard who fell ass backwards into the family fortune.

His Uncle, along with his dad, started up (at the time) the largest cable and internet service, Cablevision.
Dolan's old man gave him the CEO top job, and that was because the members of the board got all the heat when shit hit the fan, which was a daily occurrence before the dot-com explosion, when the internet was still in the caveman days. Nobody wanted that job.

Anyway, even though I can't stomach Madison Square Garden Ownership, I hung out with cradle to the grave, die hard, eat, sleep, and shit Knicks fans, and I've said many times over, I place a premium on loyalty, loyalty is (to me anyway) a very important character trait, and the NY Knicks fans are true blue, loyal to the end,

So, even though the UConn DNA in me would like to see Stephon Castle get an NBA ring, to go along with his UConn rings.
Having said all that, the fans in NYC haven't sniffed a championship in a quarter of a century. I know firsthand those fans are suffering, so for the fans, many of whom I got snotted with back in the day.
I didn't bet the series either way, so I'll root for those Knicks to get it done.

            Crap.
My OVER 216.5 is on life support here.
Time for the sharpshooters to step up in the 2H.

I was posting that as you were posting that.
Geez, I'm on a 3-8 cooler right now, forget Johnny Vee, I'm the dude you need to be fading.

            It's all good

NY was the team I didn’t want to win it all because their fans are like Cowboys fans. Entitled. But the players really have grown on me. Despite Brunson grifting for fouls he gave up $100 million so they could get Anunoby and bridges. I’ve never seen another athlete do that. The Knicks do a lot for the community, down to a man. Even despite Dolan, I don’t mind them winning it all.

Huge comeback win for the Knicks. Big body Brunson took over in the 4th. Wemby was hot garbage. Hard to bet against the Knicks.
