...Backing the host nation. Qatar's point was very much against the run of play.

...Mexico should again carry a massive HFA. I love Son, but Son looks old to me.

USA: 1* -.5 1.60: 1 to win .60. 1* -1 (2.10): 1 to win 1.10.
...Aussies started a new GK and got a dream result. Back-line came up huge. Not expecting things to go so swimmingly this time.

MAR: -.5 1.74: 1 to win .74
...Scots got 3 pts after a long WC absence. Still think Morocco is under-rated. Consider how they're mixing in the young players w/ the veterans.

BRAZ: -.5 1.10: 1 to win .10
...Making the banker-play. Should play out as a gulf in class.

2* TURK -.5 2.04: 2 to win 2.08
...Turks talked too much junk and got stymied by Australia. Quality side, and Paraguay metrics tell me that they might be a tomato-can.

...Full respect to the Swedes. Their opener couldn't have gone better. Tunisia was so bad that they swapped out the HC (for Renard). Expecting the Swedish finishing to come back to earth. Looking for Dutch to rebound.

...The Germans historically love to batter an over-matched foe (like Curacao). Elephants have good attacking options, and their team-speed figures to put pressure on the German defense.

...Spain's deliberate style sometimes produces the strange low-scoring games. I expect them to rebound in another banker-game.

...This is my upset pick. I view BELG as more name than substance, based on the Golden Generation players aging. I saw quality on the Iran side, and they should again get support from the Iranians in Los Angeles.

...Classic over-reaction to Rd1 results. Uruguay looked pretty organized to me. And Cape Verde backers are probably one game too late, after the 0-0 draw vs Spain.

...Haaland towered over the Iraqi players, so maybe a bad matchup. FRA looked really good and is now very easy to back. Taking the big-dog to hang the #.

...Expecting better from Senegal. Senegal has been one of the top African teams for a decade. May not be getting proper level of respect, as this looks like a toss-up game.

Uzbek +2 1.80: 1 to win .80
...Under leadership of HC Cannavaro, Uzbeks look to have the right defensive shape. Story-line of whether CRonaldo merits his starting spot. Think Uzbek can hang tough.

...This is the mismatch game. England look to have all of the scoring options. Top Ghana attackers are out injured, looks like a one-sided game.

...Thought Colombia looks composed. Uzbek back-line not that easy to break down. COLO should again have a nice situational edge at Altitude.
