    March Madness most memorable moments!!
I remember this game and moment like it was yesterday.

March belongs to moments like this.

Nick Anderson. Lou Henson. Kenny Battle.

A comeback win over Syracuse that sent Illinois to the 1989 Final Four. Down 13 early. Took control in the final minutes.

A defining chapter in Illini basketball history.

Gosh, some good basketball Thursday Friday, Saturday, Sunday. Several weeks in a row. Madness. March Madness.

This year I am rooting for one of the ranked number 1's the Florida Gators. The other FL team UCF has already lost their game by 4 points after being down by 23 points early on.

Good luck on your 2026 picks.

                    Good question, Illini.

Damn, I need to think about this for a second, and I don't like to think on Sundays. Come Friday night, I'm usually spent.

At the start of the 2024 UConn season, I told Ally, "This team is a special kind of special; this could be a repeat season for the ages

                    My favorite moment:
Don't hate on me for this, Illini. But that 30-0 second-half run the Huskies went on in the 2024 Sweet Sixteen was unlike anything I've ever seen. Huskies did that in every conceivable way, vicious block shots at the rim that led to fast break run outs, three-point shots that were pure... You name it, Stephon Castle dishing out dimes, Cam Spencer draining threes, the twin towers (Clingan and Karaban) blocking and altering shots...

And that Illini squad was good too, they were hardly what you call hamburgers.
UConn ran the table, winning all six tournament games, all by double digits.
That was a memorable season I'll take to my grave.

                    A close second-place favorite moment:
                    2010-2011 UConn Huskies.

Connecticut was projected to have just an ordinary season, with a middle-of-the-pack Big East team being the consensus, and for the most part, the pundits had it correct. Huskies were just 9-9 in the Big East Conference, and anything short of a deep Big East Tournament run, they're NIT-bound.

UConn ran that table, winning five BE tournament games in five consecutive nights. Not to be outdone, UConn goes on to sweep all six NCAA tourney games, knocking off Arizona and Kentucky along the way.

Unlike that 2024 Husky team, which could beat you with an eight-man rotation, the 2011 team was a one-man wrecking crew (Kemba Walker), and except for Napier, nobody else.

None of that would have ever happened if Kemba hadn't drained this perfect step-back jumper at the buzzer vs. Pitt

Considering everything that was at stake, this is one of the most clutch stepbacks I've ever seen.
Which never happens if Cooms-McDaniels doesn't set that perfect pick screen on Brad Wanamaker, creating that mismatch that broke #52's ankles

Even if one dislikes UConn hoops, you have to appreciate this play for what it was.

1985 Vill (8th Seed) upsets Ewing and GEO. Circa 70% FG%

                        1973 a young healthy Walton shoots 21/22 FG%.

The illini comeback in 2005 was one of the most unreal comebacks I have ever seen. Remember it like it was yesterday!
