I thought about the implications of UConn advancing:
*For purposes of the the contest, that puts it all on Conn/ILL:
...If Conn wins, that would be a +10 score (based on 2*5 = 10).
...If Conn wins, Jake can't close the gap as ARIZ can only score 11 more (5 + 6).

Kinda interesting when they played back in November (yes I know November) Uconn was a 4.5 favorite and won.... 74-61. Now Uconn is a dog. Lots of takes both ways on what has changed since then.. should be a fun game!

A few things I'm skeptical on:
1) I hate the 32/48 advancement. I would much prefer a LONGER group-stage...with a shorter Knockout stretch. Eight 6-team groups would make for a fantastic tournament.

2) The tri-hosts from NoAmer really changed this field. Haiti/Curacao/Panama are in, but a European giant like Italy is out.

3) I could think of a few contest ideas. At the moment, I haven't seen any good Future odds on Yes/No for Last 16.

ITALY's turn south is truly amazing. Italy used to be the master of "getting results."

A few theories I've read about:
1) Their style was so much Defense First and capitalize on one top striker.
...That style works when you have TOP Def/GK.

2) If you go back a while, ITA national team seemed to hang on to veterans forever.
...Stymied some of the young players.

3) And the next wave of young stars never hit.
...ITA has often looked like a dinosaur (in comparison to SPA/FRA).

Just speaking for myself, more interest in World Cup this summer. Will bypass on the NBA/NHL. Will start a nice World Cup contest (tho), check out other thread.
