Syracuse athletics have been a joke here in the Northeast for decades now.
Syracuse U. is (unofficially) the so-called representative of Northeast football, which I would be fine with, except the last time they won anything of relevance was 15 years ago, when they were co-champions (8-5), the last year that the Big East actually played meaningful football.
I wasn't even born when the Orange won their only Natty, but this little fun fact blew me away last week when I read SU has only produced one, just one, Heisman Trophy since 1890, the year they started playing football.
Do the math, I'm so not impressed.
ACC football is weak these days, not nearly as competitive when the Seminole and Clemson teams were elite, or damn close to elite.

Regarding Orange hoops. The same thing I just wrote about Orange football applies to them, but worse, being Boehiem was crooked as the day is long.
I remember the day when Boeheim told MSG. Big East, and NYC power broker Dave Checketts, was bolting the Big East for the ACC. I thought Checketts was going to choke the air out of Boeheim's lungs. That was the only time growing up in the NY metropolitan area I recall seeing Checketts pissed.
Did you see him at the Garden earlier? He looks great for seventy.
