Zoeller was a great golfer; unfortunately, many will remember him for the one off-color (No pun intended) joke he made.

I didn't know the man, I never met the man.
I don't know if Zoeller was really a racist or just guilty of a total lack of judgment before making that stupid joke.

I wasn't at that event; it would be ignorant to pass judgment on a man I didn't know anyway, that's what my mother taught me: "do not speak ill of the deceased."

Fuzzy liked his Vodka..I think he just had 1 too many that day and tried to make a joke that was just too racially sensitive for most people..He always joked around and was a fan favorite..I joked around with him at the Phoenix open in early 80s..Too bad that incident happened...RIP Fuzz

He was known to be a funny guy. Sometimes, one can try TOO HARD to be funny.

I'll give one comment that ties back to that 1997 comment. Tiger was only 22 years old. He was just hitting his stride. The older generation of golfers (guys in the their 40s) were very JEALOUS. So, (imho) I always viewed that comment as more JEALOUSY than RACISM.
