(Coll FB) Cignetti hits the lottery

Cmon. Guy is 64-years old. Might not even coach eight more years.

I'm gonna say that Curt takes a Speed-ball to celebrate. Off biggest win in school history? I like Mich St +27.

Franklin getting fired couldn't of came at a better time especially after the Oregon win for Cigz.. Penn State would of paid him more trust me. He did the right thing by his team and I'm glad he got paid.

LOL Chuck u think this guy isn't a good coach cuz he's 64? I don't care how old he is he wins any and every where he goes. U must blow the SEC coaches like Kirby Smart? Who couldn't hold Cigz jockstrap. Facts. Yet he gets paid more

Indiana and football coach Curt Cignetti agreed to a new eight-year contract that will pay him a staggering $11.6 million per year, the school announced yesterday. It comes as Cignetti’s Hoosiers are ranked No. 3 and overwhelmingly favored to make the College Football Playoff … and as Penn State looks for a new coach. The deal, worth $93 million, is fully guaranteed unless Cignetti is fired for cause. At Indiana! I can’t get over this.

Head, you make a good point. After PennSt canned Franklin, there was some innuendo on who his replacement might be. Not a lot of good choices, so Cignetti's name was mentioned.

I have to believe his agent leveraged that point. Strike while the iron is hot.

Good for Cignetti!! I like his swagger and do not think his success is a fluke. Very refreshing to see some new teams like Indiana rise up and be a player. It looks like they will likely make the playoff again this year. I wonder how much of that new contract IU will get back if they make consecutive playoff appearances? Not to mention raking it in at home games and season tickets are probably selling like hotcakes.

OK. Did Cig's extension include an Alumni Bet clause?

Why else kick the FG there?

Ha-ha-ha. Holy shit. Smith sends in a zinger.

He re-dings it with a very late FG. Touche, my friend!

Lol....Indiana kicks a fg up 25 with 2 minutes left for the cover....but not so fast, MSU says FU...kicks their own fg with seconds left. IU coach didn't look happy.
