(Coll FB) Penn St fires HC James Franklin
Not too surprising. Think it had to happen. Would have been very hard for him to continue the season.

Won't say I feel bad for him. But the players need to bear some responsibility for not playing better.

Sure seems like the fans wanted him gone. I wonder if any of the players spoke up post-game on his behalf:
Where's the fuckin power box, Carol?

Watched one interview. IMHO, a veteran player is in a position to stand up for his HC. Take responsibility as a player.

Not saying it would have helped. Think you deflect pressure off the HC:
Where's the fuckin power box, Carol?

They owe him $57 million. I think he never has to work again.

He should have been sent packing the week before.

I heard the post-game press conference last night; Franklin sounded like a man on his deathbed.
Shit rolls downhill; it starts with Franklin. His team was not prepared, and as a result, they got rag-dolled.

Allar got KOed, doesn't matter, he was way overrated. I kept hearing about how good a field manager he was supposed to be.

You could have fooled me. When I think of game managers, I'm thinking Alex Smith, or Phil Simms, and Allar ain't all that

Franklin will never sniff a HC gig with a power conference team again, unless it's a bottom-feeder like Boston College.

He might be a good NFL DC or asst. coordinator, who knows?

Yeah, you’re spot on. The whole team looked completely unprepared — zero energy, zero adjustments. Franklin’s post-game tone said it all. It’s hard to watch a program with that much talent keep falling short like that.

Chucky, agreed and feel like the last 2 losses as massive favorites, is mostly on the players. Very typical of today's day and age that the players do not seem to be taking much/any accountability. Where was their passion? Is it completely on the head coach for the players to show some heart? Franklin has always lost to other top teams but usually throttled the inferior ones...

nasher, agreed that Allar is/was highly overrated...he never showed me anything really to match/live up to all the hype. Feel the same way about Klubnik on Clemson.

Salud, Jake. Was listening to a CollFB betting analyst:
                  1) He described UCLA as a "corpse" b4 the PennSt game. Pretty accurate.
                  2) And NWern wasn't much better.
