    Horrible Announcers
Rich Eisen and Kurt Warner are awful.
Like Buck and Troy, awful, maybe even worse.
    That's next-level stinky.

Eisen is boring AF, and Warner (aka Captain Obvious) tells me nothing that we don't already know and is not capable of forming a sentence without four pauses.

The R&D team at Pfizer should figure out a way to bottle them and sell them as a sleep aid. It'll put the Sominex people out of work.

Hey, Nash. I love Announcer review:
*Sometimes, the announcers matter more to me than the game.

    1) I agree with you on Eisen. He was fresh a LONG time ago.
...Don't really like his style. I don't listen to him anymore.

    2) I do like the Kurt Warner story. Came from way back to succeed.
...I give him more credence than Eisen.
Where's the fuckin power box, Carol?

Anybody can be an announcer now. Look at the illiterates on every show on ESPN. Embarrassing. Doesn’t matter as long as they fit the profile.

This is the most boring game I've ever seen,
Deep in the fourth quarter, the Jets are up 11-10, with just 136 TOTAL yards.

This game is unwatchable. There is nothing the announcers can do to fix the horrible product NFL has put on this morning.

Didn't the same 2 teams play a complete stinker last year as well? Almost a carbon copy, I think last year it was a 10-9 final or something similar.

                Justin Fields is a bust.
                He sucks at QB.
QBs I'd rather see starting for the Jets other than Fields.

                Bryce Young.

Typical Jets...they signed him for 2 years $40 million when they could have had Mac Jones for $3 million/per or a slew of others that are certainly better passing the ball then Fields, for a fraction of the price.

                    Let's revisit this post.
                    Young
                    Rattler
                    Danny Dimes
                    Drake Maye
Already at 100+ yards or more at the half, surpassing Fields' total from earlier.
                    (Dart did it Thursday night)

The Jets OL is a bust. He didn't have time to throw today. And he kept the game close and covered the spread.

On field - I am a huge Kurt Warner fan. His story and play inspired. But in the booth - he is Frankenstein. He's amazed the Jets aren't passing the ball in certain situations, as If Justin Fields (clearly suffering from a mental block on how to play QB while actively quarterbacking an NFL team) can morph into Pat Mahomes at the snap of the finger. Totally lost.

It's pretty clear but ESPN loves the DEI hires...most of the people working there nowadays have no business being the resident "expert" in their particular area of "expertise". They are all about checking boxes regarding diversity.

I thought Brady did sound a little better yesterday. But was it him or is the bar just getting lower ?

I love Kevin Harlan; he never fails to crack me up.
Harlan (IMO) is the total package, personable, funny, and knows four different sports fluently.
And just as important, never takes himself too seriously.

I love Harlan on TV doing the NBA and NFL.
He's employed by Westwood One as the play-by-play man on their radio casts.

                                                Ian Eagle is solid, too.
As much as I like Brady as FOX's NFL analyst, I noticed he's starting to turn out like most of them, using the same old tired cliches and such.

Gus Johnson and Joel Klatt are 100 percent unlistenable.
Johnson's over-the-top hyperbole is brutal, and every word out of Klatt's mouth sounds AI-generated.
                                                Ugh.

I think I mentioned I briefly met Gus for about a minute; he comes across as a gentleman's gentleman.
This was in between the Big East Tourney at MSG three years ago, when UConn beat Marquette on their way to their historic back-to-back seasons

Salud, EZ. I have my own opinions on this:
                                                  1) You don't need to go back much further than one generation. Used to be that your # of news-sources was pretty limited.
                                                  2) It's become so much more prevalent. But they're still reporting on the same news. It's way overdone.
                                                  3) Smith should consider himself to be lucky as fk. He has some good NBA intel, but that price? Plz.
Where's the fuckin power box, Carol?

Hi STR = even though the bar has been lowered in recent years, I think Brady is incredible in the booth and I almost hate to say that he has been like that since his first broadcast. Compare him to Aikman who has been doing this for decades now. He has never really improved since year 1 and now he's a little goofy this year. Brady is insightful and says things that I have never heard from another analyst from the QB perspective. So many now, in both NFL and college, have no frikkin right being in booth and have probably been placed there for political reasons or something other than being good at analysis.

I agree. He has pointed out a few things I have never heard before and he nailed them. Let’s face it, I love the NFL but, when I can see the defense set prior to the snap, I don’t know who’s going to rotate over to guard the TE that chips and slides out. But Brady sure does. He sees things we or at least I do not see. Some people might not care for that but I love it.
if you are a professional like him, he just sees things we don’t. Maybe it’s just me but I love that game within the game stuff. Every pro sport has it and when it is pointed out by someone that truly knows what they’re talking about, it changes how you think.
I promise you, my comment was not a knock at all. Might have sounded like it but I think he has a good chance of reinventing the announcers booth.
                                                        I hope so.

Right with you on all of that. Watching at home you always wonder if they send the TE (or WR) to opposite side before snap to draw a specific defender with him or any other defender over to that side or as you stated to chip block key pass rusher. Then again it could be a big nothing... so his insight has been great since the beginning and I've heard him say things that I had not heard from other analysts
Meanwhile, I hope they go back to hiring Communications majors versus former players. As it turns out, many of them don't know the game inside and out which is what you'd expect if they have been living the life for 20+ years or wtvr.

Honestly, that does not surprise me as much as you would think. In my business from years ago, the number of race horse trainers that could articulate what happened in a given race was surprisingly low. I guess it's the same thing in other sports.
