Red Sox OF Greenwell, dies at 62

Mike Greenwell dies at age 62

    (2) Red Sox on X: "We are deeply saddened by the passing of Red Sox Hall of Famer Mike Greenwell. “The Gator” spent his entire career in a Red Sox uniform and was a beloved fixture of Fenway and Fort Myers. He gave so much to Lee County and Sox Nation. We send our love to the Greenwell family. https://t.co/WyA14dYu0E" / X

            Very nice LH stick.
His 1988 season was very impressive.
            300/.400/.500 seasons are uncommon.
Stole double digits a season in his prime.

As good a hitter as Greenwell was, his defense wasn't.
Some of my local baseball buddies up here used to call Greenwell "Dr. Stonehand."

He was known because he went to high school near there and a prospect with Boston. Doyle school had various prospects come back for instruction. I didn't play any games against him. I did play against Catfish Hunter's son who was there. I can't believe he didn't make it.
