    Iowa -1.5 Rutgers
I like the road favorite tonight.
    Iowa -1.5

    *caveat emptor*
Every time I fade RU, it comes back and bites me in the ass.
Karma, I guess, I'm an original Jersey boy.

    Hawkeyes -1.5

Nash, I'm with you, IA -2. My scouting report on the game:

    1) Rutgers RUSH Def has been surprisingly loose. Hawks should win the rush game.
    2) Gronowski's passing has been very underwhelming in the move up from FCS. And this guy was supposed to be an NFL prospect.
    3) IA-IASt game was typical. Tough game, decided by IASt kicking making a LONG fg.
    4) IA kicker Stevens has a good leg. Hopefully he wins it on a FG.
    5) Series history (and this is a good one). IA/Rut has played four times. IA is 4-0 S/U. Rutgers scored a total of 17 points in four games (and was shutout twice).
Where's the fuckin power box, Carol?

I’m on Iowa - also grew up in NYC w/ a soft spot for having watched RU on locally televised games … but have seen them lose many, many times. Dont know a thing about the matchup, just throwing $25 FanDuel Boost on the Iowa side.

I was born and raised in NJ. I've been in Connecticut for the past 20 or so years.
RU is NJ's state school, I respect that, but the only epic win in the years I've followed them was that win over Louisville about 14 years ago.

No knock on RU, but IMO Iowa has the better team going in, but RU is home, which is why I am backing Iowa only 1*

I don’t think Iowa offense will be able to score a TD tonight.

              That didn’t age well.

Hawkeyes got it done, but trying to fade Schiano is tough. He's one of top 10-15 coaches in cfb imo. Their QB hit a ton of tough slants and some deep shots, but Iowas QB was surprisingly good too. Good game. Good to start 1-0

Despite being the state school in a true football state, Rutgers is basically permanently fukked when it comes to its football team - I've always blamed Penn State. Maybe things change in the NIL era (or not) but historically Penn State got any football player they wanted from NJ over Rutgers.

Here's the diff btw Penn State and Rutgers - 3rd quarter last night, still a tie game at 21 apiece, and Rutgers has the Iowa offense at 3rd and 10 near midfield ... mild crowd noise, I didn't hear much and it didn't look like the Iowa QB had any issues communicating with his offense. If that were in Happy Valley the crowd noise would have been deafening. That atmosphere impacts recruiting.

I can't imagine Rutgers football without Schiano at the helm. It wouldn't be pretty.

                            They still do.

I grew up in Union County. We had some good football teams, like Union and Westfield, but we were beasts when it came to wrestling.

The teams in North Jersey, where Bill Parcells grew up, teams like Bergen Catholic, Passaic... they turn out All-American type linemen, year in, year out. These kids can write their own tickets, and they don't want RU because of the lack of exposure.

The kids will choose either Penn State or Notre Dame, especially the Catholic kids.
