Is terrorist threat to USA overblown?Super bowl-Vegas targets always unscathed!
There is a totally open southern border, the terrorists in the middle east suicide bomb themselves to just kill 5 people sometimes and many terrorists are engineers and chemists and they don't have the brains to say, geesh,I could be a superstar terrorist if I destroy the tourist industry in Vegas and ruin the landmark event in all of sports. When you watch FOX News, all the Hannity's and O'reilly's insist that you won't have attacks here if you keep spending 1,000,000,000,000,000,000 a year on defense and stomp on everyone's personal freedoms. They never bring up the scenario I just did where any motivated violent brain stem willing to give up their life could accomplish making Vegas and the Super Bowl something you avoid at all cost for ever after.

I probably shouldn't be bringing this up but back in the 70's they made the movie about the Super bowl being under attack.I think they ran it on tv a few days before the game.I would like to see what the government's response would be today if they would have tried something like that.

I saw that movie, I think they clled it "Black Sunday". A dude had a bomb in the goodyear blimp, and of course it didn't work.

I would think a terrorist could do some damage, but not at the big event site, it would be much easier to take out other targets that are not in the mainstream at the time. For instance, instead of hitting the super bowl on Sunday, they might hit the statue of Liberty, or perhaps another landmark of some sort.
