You still need an offshore book.
Every book offshore had at least a total of 20 1/2 for the first half of the Vikes/Texans game. Every US book (except 365) had a total 19 1/2. It lands on 20 and I had under in the US.

    Shoot me. lol

Offshore has better lines and prices. If you are playing at most of the US books you are pissing away money every time you place a wager.

Reviewing line histories: what I'm seeing is lots of US regulated sportsbooks were 19.5 early in the morning, then closed 20.5 at kickoff. Circa was under 20.5 even money for a full hour before the game started. IGT sportsbooks opened at 20.5. Fanduel was one of the very few, but they were shaded to like 019.5 -138 the night before. Draftkings only moved there about 15 minutes before close, MGM only about five minutes before.

More outs is always better, but we still have to make good bets. In this sample size of one, it's the US books with the better odds, giving us much more opportunity to beat the closing lines.

(in Las Vegas, stations gave us o17 a week out for anyone who wanted to spend a day driving around the city)

Actually - I kind of feel the opposite about football season.

You need at least one legal app in the rotation and ideally monitor 2 or 3.

The apps are much more focused on “balanced” action vs risk management and trusting their people. This means unlike offshore books who make their $$ trusting their in house sharps - legal books simply want to have 50/50 action and take the guaranteed profit. Joe Public doesn’t care about “overpaying” 20 or 40 cents on a money line - in his mind the juice doesn’t matter if you win. So usually very easy to catch arbitrage opportunities and bonus scalps between offshore and apps - especially if you bet early in the week offshore and closer to game time on the apps. Mix in a bit of live betting and there’s plenty of profit potential.

Of course SOME apps LOVE players who take those huge money line dogs too - it’s the opposite of the typical customer they attract normally. Then there are the ones like Hard Rock and Fan Duel - who will boot or limit anyone who is beating them - regardless of who you are or what you bet.
