When and what were the first sports books that started accepting BTC
First time posting here in many years. I was very active until about 2010 ish and at the time 5 Dimes matchbook and bookmaker were some of the big names and at the time they didn’t accept bitcoin.

years later I was having a conversation with a friend and he was telling me pretty much all the old sportsbooks were dead since bitcoin deposit books really took over.

around what year did big name books start accepting bitcoin as deposit and withdraw methods?

I think they started taking it in about 2015 from memory only.

No way! An old time familiar face. I can’t believe you remember a random video posted 17 years ago. Im in my mid 30’s now. I can’t play to save my life anymore. Pretty much gave up hooping. I’ve been good. Pretty much stopped sports betting cold turkey years ago for no other reason than I started to work a lot and never had time to watch sports anymore.

now that I see sport betting is basically legal everywhere, the lines make me shake my head. I remember dime lines and now all I see is -120 anytime I’m in a casino in my state (in some Oregon states you can place bets on a kiosk) I feel like I’m telling stories from the old days when I say it was so much better before it was legal.

          Welcome back.

I'm not sure about sports betting, but the first crypto poker site was Seals With Clubs in early 2014. I would guess crypto sports betting started around the same time.

I remember I won a 256 man or something like that bracket contest here , think it was 2014??
5 Dimes sponsored it and I won 500 in bitcoin and it was deposited for me in 5 dimes.
            It might’ve been 2013 ??? Just don’t remember.

Yeah, a lot has changed since those days. Bitcoin really started showing up at bigger books around 2014–2015, and by 2016–2017 it became a standard option for most of the major offshore sportsbooks. Once crypto caught on, it pretty much became the go-to for deposits and withdrawals.
