When are these idiots going to learn that if you post anything on Facebook, X, or Instagram, it's out there and next to impossible to scrub?
Rich, poor, black, white, rapper, or Wall St. bankers, they all feel compelled to be keyboard warriors only to have it bite you on your ass big time.
I know of six-figure execs who have lost careers over inappropriate posting.

What a dumbass. A person needs a lot more power than a vice chairman of a hockey team to get away with saying the stuff he did.

Why would a high level team exec get into an X "tiff" with some random fan...! Mindboggling

Whilst it does seem dumb to us right now. This is really just an example of "cancel culture" having been accepted by the masses i think. I don't like the penalty and forced apology myself.

Cifu, in posts on X, got into a back-and-forth with a Toronto fan on Sunday night, the fan starting the exchange by comparing hits by Florida players in this ongoing series against the Maple Leafs to the conflict between Israel and the Palestinians.

A post on Cifu's account shortly after, in response to the Toronto fan, referred to the fan as a "51st state anti semite loser."

Ha-ha. SOCIAL MEDIA just = one more way to go haywire. Stay off SM, avoid the mess.

Leads me to my next point. If you have a nice job, step #1 = keep the Money Train flowing. Don't say anything controversial, just cash the check.
Where's the fuckin power box, Carol?

George Orwell's Big Brother would be very pleased.

1984 is finally here, just 40 years late.

Not for nothing, my sister and I actually had a chat about this last night. It's not this particular story, but she asked me why I'm never on Facebook but post on X-Twitter constantly.

I'll post maybe once or twice on FB to congratulate a friend who got engaged, or a friend who just had a child, but that's about it, and even then it's 12 words or less.

The FBI has a unit dedicated to social media that handles online credible threats, and so forth.
If you're 'posing' on FB with a Glock in each hand, there's a 99 percent chance it'll get noticed by someone from the FBI.

My brother-in-law (my sister's husband) is an HR hiring exec in NJ for J&J.
Most of the larger corporations nowadays will check out your social media before they make you an employment offer.
