i loved the 84 tigers team. i was only 9 years old during that WS but it was incredible.

I did too.
It was the best up-the-middle defense I have ever seen.
Trammell, Whitaker, Parrish all won gold in '84, Lemon should have as well, but he was edged out by Murphy, I believe.
That defense saved Dan Petry, Jack Morris, and the rest a ton of runs.
Lemon was a good guy from all accounts. I never met him, I was too young, but you could tell he was a good guy.

Nash, that's a hell of a comment. I have to look at that further.

I have mentally thought of the 1970 Orioles and 1982 Cardinals as the best defensive teams of the last sixty years. Can't say the 1984 Tigers were on my radar.

In particular, what defensive players were that high on your list? I've long been a Lou Whitaker fan. I really think that Lou was overlooked b/c he didn't talk that much.

Wish you luck obviously but Coors has historically been a literal house of horrors for the Padres...Rockies are as bad as they have ever been however so hopefully can take care of business against a bad team like your Royals against the Chisox.
