It's one of those pools with over 250 entries and no extra points for picking upsets, so after researching each school, each conference, coaching tendencies, etc etc etc, I went with these "outliers" hoping to hit more than half of them for an extra edge against the competitors.

have a lost my mind with these? (don't answer that please because it is likely a Yes)

    - Ole Miss to the elite 8
    - Marquette to the Sweet 16
    - Colorado State to the Sweet 16
    - Drake to the Sweet 16
    - Oregon to the Final 4 !!!
    - Xavier to the Sweet 16

EDIT: Added VCU to the Sweet 16 !!

with that i probably need to hit at least 5 of the 8 "outlier picks", maybe more, to have a shot at the CASHHHHHHH

What are your longshots that can get you to the finish line in one of the pools you are entered in which has hundreds (maybe thousands?) of entries ??

Ole miss to elite 8 - yes.
I also like Houston to win no more than 2-3 games. Other than that, upsets won't be easy to find this year IMO

I like the Xavier pick. A 3 point shooting team like them could get hot and reel off a few wins. Illinois has been off for over a week and has only a couple of days to prepare for Xavier, so they could come out a little stale for the 1st round game.

i believe the opposite, Mate. i believe there are so many strong squads this year that we will see at least three or more double-digit seeds make the sweet 16 because so many teams are so deep this year with tons of veteran transfers under great coaches who have found a way to gel this year. as i type this, though, louisville with their new coach is getting owned by creighton and their longtime coach.

anyhow, i have no idea who the best picks are for double digit seeds to advance very far, but based on my research, VCU, Colorado State, Drake and Xavier, looked like they had the best chances in my mind because of their coaches, their veterans and transfers, as well what i perceived as slightly weaker top seeds above them on the way to the 2nd rd and Sweet 16.

having said that, i will probably pitch and 0 for 4 lol
