Only things you need credit for are homes and cars. Nothing else should be purchased using credit. MAYBE medical expenses.

This is news? Been true for at least a year now.
The economy does need credit to expand, create jobs, etc. Going to be rough sailing for awhile.

Your credit is checked yes, you don't need a CC to purchase or pay the bill.

Fish---stick to dumpsters. Your knowledge of economic theory is lacking.
Consumer credit is not what made this the world's greatest economy.
There isn't an economist in the world that would agree with you.
Consumer saving is the highest it has been in 60 years, and you are confusing consumer credit with consumer spending.
71% of the US economy is the result of everyday spending----Consumers stacking away cash will hurt frivilous spending but it will add stability to a volatile market.
Consumers obtaining credit, and then defaulting on unsecured debt will have much more of a negative impact on the us economy than joe smith being able to get a discover card with a 400 limit.

I agree. This is why Keynes (and thus a majority of 20th century monetary policy) was wrong. Stick to Hayek(ian?) economics and you will be fine.
