I saw it again the other night and the movie is a hoot.Jon Voight playing the A-hole coach was perfecto and he should have won an academy award for it.Who played an A-hole football coach better,Voight?The guy who played Dan Devine in Rudy or Dennis Nelson in the Tom Cruise movie?The whole crew and simple townsfolk in Varsity Blues outdid themselves.Anyone here come from a town like that?

I hated my high school football coach and he hated me since his son got shitty with me in little league and I beat the shit outta him when we were both 12 after I made fun of him for crying when he struck out ( yeah I know, a complete pussy, a QB so its expected lol). It killed him to start me as a sophmore since I was 6-4 at 16 and was blasting his seniors off the line in practice on the scout team when I was a freshman but NJ state rules prohibited Gr 3 schools from playing freshman in varsity football games. If I was moxon I wolda kicked his ass the moment I signed the deal with brown, since I had to get along with this prick since he was sending tapes to colleges (wich pads a coaches reume by the way and dont let them tell you otherwise any dads out ther with kids with D1 ability). trust me these *********** need to have your kid going to school to play ball more than the reverse. If you got the grades and the ability you got the world by the short and curly's. My grades were ass and my guideance counselor was a complete cunt, so I had to zip it to a certain degree.Comment -
lOh yeah sorry to get all Al Bundy on ya but yeah we were real good and never drove more than a half hour to play a game. I think we lost 5 games from the time I was 10-12th grade. PLayed in 2 south jersey title games and we lost em both.Comment
