Anybody else here enjoy watching the Ax Men Series on history Channel?
Looks like third season just had 3rd episode on last night. Be on all week I reckon.

I find watching the machinery and concept of the task fascinating. Its funny...each character seems like he would be a real loser in real life.Yet they seem like heroes on the show, due to the occupation`s rugged nature.

I think alot of the stuff is staged..like the falling logs and frantic running..only because you cant be filming these guys 24-7.. You can damn well be sure its a dangerous profession and death, injury or amputation lies within your very next step.

I find, tweetle dee and tweetle dumb, the water loggers..the funniest of all..all that old man does is yell at his son..they are both big time nerds who also carry a major albatross on their backs..everywhere they go bad luck seems to follow..the kid took too long underwater and Injun joe came to check on him..Can you imagine how it must have scared the fuk out of him when he was under water in the deep, dark murky canal and that guy came swimming up on him?..Awesome seen when jimmy falls in the water too..now they got this red neck who jumps on alligators in between hunting logs too

Not to mention the crews @ Rygard and the other outfits..Good show IMO

I wonder if these guys remember the day when they were greenhorns and didn't know how to do jack-shit.

I really think they should give s&s their own show. s/s is the father and son riverboat loggers. Those guys are hilarious.

It's pretty sweet how JM Browning has a pair of plyers for a hand.

Yep..all it takes is to fuk up for a split second and ..wham!!!..can you imagine how many guys got hurt in the old logging days when they used an ax and floated the logs down the river by leg and foot power

Straitshooter, i would definitely recommend giving madhouse a look. If you get some free time get on history channel's website and start at episode 1. They've only had 3 or 4 episodes so far. Hell of a show though, in my opinion.

The History Channel has sure branched out in the last couple of years making a name for itself in original programming series apart from the usual specials. After the success of last year’s real life series, Ice Road Truckers, the channel now offers up another treacherous location and job occupation, the job of an Ax Man, or as they hate to be called, lumberjacks.
The series, Ax Men, a playful title on the Marvel mutant series, focuses, at least initially, on four separate crews in the Pacific Northwest each aiming to meet quotas and stay in business for another year. The premise is eerily similar to the aforementioned Truckers in which it’s a race against time and weather to make money and survive in a harsh climate. It’s not to say the series isn’t original, but it fits in nearly the exact same mold, only with trees replacing trucks.

I've really started to get into The History Channel more and more recently. I never used to watch it but it has become one of my favorites.

I agree with you Shooter that some of this stuff seems staged and scripted at times, but it's still great viewing. Ice Road Truckers is cool too.
