Reno for superbowl..need advice.. points awarded..
I might be driving to Reno from the Bay Area next weekend for the SuperBowlif the weather permits...

I have been to vegas a few times but never Reno..

does anyone have any good info on Reno.. it looks to me like the only place worth staying at is the Peppermill with all the suites being under 200 bucks...

if there are any places i need to know about or check out, please let me know.. interested in cool places to eat, gamble and drink at...

also any fun tourist crap i should know about??

Points will be rewarded to any info i find helpful and insightful

Do I get some points for saving you the disappointment of getting to Reno & no Superbowl there?

Reno is a complete shithole. Went there a few weeks ago for the first time and it is hands down the most depressing place I've ever been. With that said, I wouldn't stay at Peppermill as it's somewhat far away from the main drag. Give Silver Legacy a look.

As far as books go, Silver Legacy is an MGM book and the attached El Dorado is a Cal-Neva book. There is also a Harrah's close by.

Have to agree with donjuan on this one, Reno's no Vegas that's for sure.

The only book I played at when I was there was Harrah's and the best part about it was they had beer pong tourneys on Friday night for cash prizes, it was a good time, made you feel like you were back in college days.

Hope ya have a fun trip bud.

This is a bad year to make a Nevada trip just for Super Bowl, as for the first time EVER, I probably won't make any straight plays on the game. The lines all seem right on to me. Hopefully I could find some props to my liking.

Also hit up the Ichiban Japanese restaurant at Harrah's as well, they got an all you can eat sushi special and it was pretty solid.
