Yes the scoreboard on the lines will be ready on August 22nd.

What will happen is that once a game starts the score, period and time left, number of outs and who is on base will appear to the right of the team names. It will be black font on a white background for ease of reading. It will take up the first two fields where the lines were.

There are quite of few under the hood upgrades to ensure reliability, speed and scalability that have to be addressed before the new scoreboard makes its debut.

We'll have to use significantly more than 2 cells in order to show all of that information ... closer to 5 or 6. We will also include the ability for viewers to toggle the scoreboard on or off so that they can see the closing lines from the underlying books if they so choose.

I agree with JJ again on this one even though it bothers me to admit it. It is no good having too much info if it is going to slow down the service. I need as close to live lines as possible. I also think as soon as a game starts the line should drop to the bottom of the page and out the way. Right now it is too confusing and the colour choices are terrible.

also, service has been missing some pinny changes -- right now at 8:28 eastern, pinny has cubs -116, you have -119 -- both have been at those lines for quite a while.

same thing in a couple other games in past couple days.

We always appreciate the input. I checked the Pinny lines and they are spot on now.

I mentioned a few days back there would be some inconsistant spots over the next couple of weeks. We are upgrading some hardware and system software to make the lines faster, more stable and to handle more traffic. Also, user features such as the inline scoreboard are being developed. By the latter part of August this will be something special.
