ChuteBoxe's Strikeforce: Miami selection and opinions
    5 Dimes Parlay (-136) for 3 Units
    Diaz (-250)
    Santos (-660)
    Lashley (-1300)

The toughest fight in this parlay is the Nick Diaz fight. His skills are far surperior to Zaromskis in every aspect of the game. Unfortunately though, for Diaz, Zaromskis has a hell of a KO punch. He swings for the fences, and can possibly get lucky. I see Diaz getting tagged a little bit trying to stand up, but he should take it to the ground and submit Zaromskis rather easily. Santos is fighting a decently mediocre opponent in Marloes Coenen. Coenen hits hard and is a decent Muay Thai fighter, but she hits hard for a girl. Santos is the hardest hitting female ever to fight MMA. She hits like a guy. Coenen's only shot in this fight is off her back, maybe an armbar or a triangle. She won't get the shot against Cyborg, unfortunately. Lashley's fight is reminiscent of the Kimbo debut. They are throwing a fighter out there for Lashley to shine against. Bobby is very athletic, with nice quick and crisp punches from what I've seen of his training. Wes Sims will not be able to keep up.

    Opinions:

    Robbie Lawlor (+155)/Melvin Manhoeff (-185)
I lean Manhoeff in this win. Think it will be an epic battle. Lawlor can probably take down Manhoeff and have some success against him, but I don't see that happening in this one. Strikeforce wants to see a standup war between 2 KO artists, the fans want to see a standup war, and so do both fighters. Manhoeff has twenty 1st round stoppages; six of which took place in the first minute of the fight. I think much of the same happens here.

    Joe Riggs (+250)/Jay Hieron (-300)
Hieron is a very underrated fighter, and has worked his way up the ladder for years. His most recent fight was a decisive win over former TUF Middleweight Jesse Taylor. Riggs has had well documented problems with both his personal life and his career in the past few years, and has too many holes in his game to keep up with Hieron, IMO. Both of these fighters have heavy hands, and like to throw bombs, which is where Riggs has the edge. However, I look for Heiron to be the smarter fighter, and use his strengths to his advantage. He's an accomplished wrestler, and should look to take Riggs to the ground and control the fight. I like Hieron in a close war, and possibly fight of the night.

    Herchel Walker (-345)/Greg Nagy (+285)
Pretty much a pointless fight, IMO. I know Walker trained at the American Kickboxing Academy, and held those open workouts to showcase his err...skills. He looked ok, but I can't see him being that much better than in the gym. Fight tape for the 1-1 Nagy, was hard to come by, so let's just figure he's smart enough to know how to throw some punches, kicks, and be decent on the ground. He also should be smart enough to know that the longer this fight goes, the better off his chances are. I think this line is very inflated, and if I were to take a chance, I'd take the guy who's not 47 years old.

    Great stuff Chutebus

This girl fighting Santos..I just watched her interview..thinks she would destroy Santos if it goes to the ground..that surprising being that Cyborg is a great Brazilian..and they are best on the ground

Marius is one of the best fighters in the World. I am a huge supporter and fan of Nick Diaz, but he loses tonight. This is going to be a good fight and Marius will not be denied.

You sound pretty convincing here and in the other thread, Chutebox seems to think he has a solid puncher`s chance too..hmmm

Excellent analysis on all the fights! The only one I disagree with you on is Walker/Nagy. And that's for 1 reason and 1 reason only. I don't think Strikeforce is going to bring Walker in to lose his first fight. I admittedly know nothing about Nagy but I don't think Strikeforce want Walker to lose his debut.

Anything can happen but I haven't been so confident in a dog in a long long time. Marius would beat 99% of the people in his division if he was in the UFC. He is a huge huge worldwide name, just not here in the US. If you know MMA than you know that Marius has all the talent in the World and will not be pushed around tonight. Sure, Nick can win and he might, I just don't think it will happen tonight. Marius is a delight to watch as well. It is like a person playing the piano, a thing of beauty. Orale guey

Coenen (the girl fighting Santos), is very deceptive on the ground. She's great from her back, and known to "trap fighters". Just think the pure strength and power Cyborg has will get her out of trouble.

As far as Santos' ground game...she just got her purple belt (same as me) in 2009, so that's not bad, but also far from great at this level. Cyborg isn't coming to get into a jiu jitsu battle. She's fighting out of Chute Boxe from a straight Muay Thai perspective. She's coming to KO Coenen any way possible. Knees from the clinch, dirty boxing, ground and pound, forearms. I wouldn't worry about it too much.

Why does it seem that every Nick or Nate Diaz fight, we're on the opposite side of each other? Hate that shit. I won last time, hope it's not your turn now, lol. Good luck tonight bud.

It is weird isn't it? Good luck to you as well, I am one of the biggest Nick Diaz fans you will find, however, as you know Marius is second to none. Like how I put that? Second to none? I guarantee that you are the only person on this forum that will get that.

It's possible, that's why I didn't make it a play. I think the plan is that Walker will take this guy out in the first round. If this fight goes all 3 rounds, Walker will be gasping for air.

If SSLP is around, he might get it, but that's about it, lol. Where the hell has he been?

Marius has been very impressive in Dream and Cage Rage. This is a big step up in talent for him though.

I just think Diaz will be cautious in the first round and work conservative grappling, while trying to avoid Zaromskis bombs, and eventually gets his timing and manages to take him down and work him in the second round.

I see where you're coming from though....it could turn into a long fight if Diaz can't avoid the bombs AND push the pace. Decisions and the Diaz brothers don't go well together.
