We should open a betting company. I wonder how much will cost to start such a thing. We should raise some capital among us and have shares.

#9This is not something you would want to do with complete strangers. This is something that is best done by the mob, or by people who open offshore POST UP operations based on the internet (I'm sure some of which are mob related too). I say the mob if you live in the US because they have a system and the fear factor going for them. Do people fear you? Do you have people who you can trust who can go out and collect and do what they need to do to collect? The mob also has ways to avoid getting busted, and they make millions before they do get busted. Its like a family business, you need to know what to do. Do you know how to go about operating a book and avoid getting caught?Comment -

#10Why do you still have SeaLand in your name?
Maersk dropped the SeaLand part a long time ago.Comment -

#12You might be right...I didn't think this far. Back in my East European country I know some guys whoe started something like this maybe 15 years ago...it was not a big deal, they rented few offices, took the odds form the internet and run a good business. But after like two years they went out of business...I don't remeber the charges...and somebody else took their place.Originally posted by WileOutThis is not something you would want to do with complete strangers. #13SeaLand was an American shipping line that was bought by Maersk (1999?). For a couple of years the called the container business MaerskSeaLand. The SeaLand was then dropped and they reverted to Maersk Line.Originally posted by maersksealandNo, Sealand is the maritime side of Maersk.

Where in the world do they still use Maersk SeaLand?
Your bookie idea only makes sense if you live in a jurisdiction where gambling is legal. Huge capital is needed to compete in terms of marketing.Comment -
