yea one of my threads from a year ago got bumped and moved to pz, they want to keep semi-current stuff on top of the board.

Yeah but John, from what I remember bumping very old threads was just good ol' fashion fun at SBR. It is interesting to see threads from the past (maybe not that one but others that usually get bumped). It's sort of like history.

I mean SBR has so much traffic as it is I don't see the need to permanently stick it downstairs. Enough posts get made each minute to bury it on its own.

Ok I can understand that, but this has got to be the busiest gambling forum there is. I mean posts from a couple hours ago are already on the 2nd page. If they let posters do their thing i'm sure the problem will solve itself in this case.

No one's saying you have to stay current. Spend your time in the library. But there are some of us who have moved on and like sports that are en vogue..And we don't like digging thru yesterday's news to find it.

Bob, I think you are a solid poster and always have. But anyone that is that into sports and sports talk, go to a sub forum if players talk isn't getting it done. I mean players talk is supposed to be a lounge in my opinion. If the thread asking for the 3k loan wasn't originally put in the private zone for being as silly as it is..... I don't see why it should be for a harmless bump that will go away in a matter of minutes on it's own from the traffic SBR currently has.

I agree with you Mr. Soprano. I think it is fun when it's not overdone. However, I believe that since your recent comeback, you too might have noticed that some of these threads were bumped without ANY reason, with a stupid smiley, etc etc..

I appreciate and would love to educate myself and get to know the curriculum and history of this forum, but I'd rather start from 0 and get to know who is Soprano now than reading about some thread from 2003, often mistakenly thinking it's recent.

I think bumped threads are gray zone, but I think the specified case in your OP definitely belongs to PZ.

Ok, and yes I agree. Overdoing it turns from something that could be entertaining to just a bunch of clutter-like spam clogging up the main forum. Maybe mods should put guys that do that like ttaylor on a temp. ban or put them on post review. Then the guys that do it so much don't ruin it for everyone else.

Like a lot of the ones i've seen taylor bump weren't even interesting ones. He is an amateur and doesn't know what he is doing. Posting is very serious business. Betplom was a good bumper, PavyRacer is a good bumper, etc... lol

This is a huge deal for me, and you know I'm not a big fan of bitching about this n' that on SBR.

I was also contacted by "SBR_Staff" following some comments I made towards the serial-stiff whatsgood5.

If SBR's moderators aren't willing to take the fire for their actions - whether they are justified or not - that's a big issue.

I want to know who's talking to me, who's warning me - I may have history with that specific member, certainly responding to a user name "SBR_Staff" feels odd.

The SBRStaff account serves as a face for some temporary Mods from CR that sometimes fill in on the off hours. Since they aren't encouraged to develop their own posting persona (some people at SBR are kept away from the forum) it streamlines the process to promote their anonymity in disciplinary matters. If they do something objectionable, you can always take it up with a higher profile Mod.

It's about time for this thread to be moved, isn't it? It is not talking directly about SBR's delicate areas, however just talking about the moving of threads might cause people to think and that kind of thing needs to be controlled.

Thats why I was saying maybe a ban temp. or put the ones doing it constantly on post review. They shouldn't cause epic SBR threads to be moved out of the main for good over a silly bump.
