    Do announcers add anything?
Lately, I've been watching games with the sound off and listening to music. What I've learned is that I don't miss the announcers at all. More often than not, they are wrong anyway. Minus an occasional injury update, I don't miss them at all.

Anyone else watch games without the sound?

I watch a lot of games from the gym with my ipod. When I am home I have the volume down also. I get sick of the same old cliches that they all feel obligated to spew out.

Enjoy listening to ones like Jeff Van Gundy.... ones with good humor and a human-like personality.

Depends. I think some announcers add quite a bit to a game. Some of the 2nd tier announcers can detract an awful lot though.

For instance, I'll watch a Dodgers game regardless how exciting it is, just to listen to Vin Scully.

Nothing at all, unless you want to hear how "courageous" the player is, or the fact that "He's giving 110% out there".....

For the most part I like the guys that call Yankees games on YES. Mike Kay, Ken Singleton, David Cone, Paul O'Neil. Don't care for John Sterling very much.

wish you could turn the announcers off but leave the crowd noise on. Also if they would just keep the camera on the field instead of all the annoying extras.

In a perfect world we'd all get to watch the coach's film for football. The angle showing 30-40% of the entire field. Lots of games come down to match-ups in the secondary that we never get a chance to see until we see the ball thrown.

Mainly no, but there is a few that do in my opinion. For example, Dickie V and Clyde Frazier come to mind for me.
