    Curtis Martin retires
I think we need a thread about this. Like so much of his career, it is happening with little fanfare. He retires at the age of 34 as the #4 all-time leading rusher in league history.

That bears repeating: the #4 leading rusher in the history of the NFL.

I seldom hear his name mentioned in debates over who is the all-time greatest. Maybe that's because he has been more about consistent excellence than highlight reel moments. Maybe he has just never been a big enough self-promoter.

I have always admired the guy a lot.

That bad knee pretty much did him in.

It's just too bad that he was is Emmit's, Barry,Thurman, Terrel, and Faulk's shadow for all those year. I still believe he will make the HOF fame though with the numbers he put up there in his career.

Yeah, he was in the shadow of the running back era. Too many better backs that made him a after thought. But I think his career was good enough to get him in the Hall.

Yeah, the media loves those guys and I prefer the opposite.

He's got to be in the Hall of Fame though, right? #4 all-time rusher.

Does anyone say nay to Cu-Mar in the HOF?
