In our everlong search for value, here's one that looks almost too good, which is always scary. It is the pick of the day though.
Has anyone else noticed that AI is just a cancer to the Sixers and not much more? He and the REAL AI (these days, anyway) Andre Inguodala mesh about as well as oil and water. Usually in a case like that you get rid of the inferior player, whom I think most would agree is Iverson. Now I definitely respect the things Iverson did in the past...the year he took the Sixers to the finals was 100% single handed and it was one of the most impressive feats I have seen in the sport. We live in the present tense, however, and the bottom line is that Iverson, despite all of his past accomplishments and the absurd fact that he will start for the All-Star team, is no longer a legit NBA starter.
And what's not to like about the Mavs these days? Sure they play a lot of close games here and there, but that's against normal competition. Not the train wreck that the Sixers are these days. Mark Cuban has his players playing on point every night and it's pretty much a given fact that to win the West you will probably have to travel through Dallas at some point.
So, pretty simple really. One of the NBA's best teams right now in the Mavericks importantly sporting one of the NBA's best road records, this fact helps our cause a lot. The previews for the game will tell you that the Mavs are running good in one point victories, and this will probably make you wince a little at giving the 3 points. Wince not, my friend. The fact that the Sixers are just a mess until they get Iverson out of the starting lineup needs ot be emphasized and a team with the firepower the Mavs feature has the ability to blow them off of any floor at any time.
Scared of taking a road favorite? The Sixers are an embarassing 6-14 at home. Don't be scurred.
We hit nicely for 17 units on our ten with our last value pick with the Devils. Let's put 10.5 units on the Mavs here and walk away with with an easy 10.
