How do you like it, and how hard was it to make the switch?

i've switched to linux a year ago or so , but only for about 2 or 3 weeks until i finally said enough is enough.
If you are not a linux expert , i would't do it , you have to put in too much work to get basic things working.

Its too complex and more for hardcore users, I would go to a mac if you are tired of the BS.

I agree, Ubuntu is much easier to learn while Linux can be real pain to learn, both products are great and are free.

I use both Liniux and Windows. Have used linux for couple of years. I have Kubuntu as my main OS, but I also still have Win 7 for some games and certain apps.
Agree with the guys above. Ubuntu is easy to install and use, but I'd go for the KDE version, Kubuntu. KDE is superior to Gnome as a desktop environment IMHO.

I use it on one of my servers. I wouldn't recommend it for the common end user. The advantages are that it is highly customizable since it's open source. It's also much faster for most tasks. If you're a programmer, it's a very useful OS.
If you're a beginner, it's cumbersome and confusing. It might take you weeks to figure out something that would have taken 30 seconds to do in Windows. There is a steep learning curve. It takes quite a bit of dedication if you're unfamiliar with the *nix environments.
