Lakers started intentional fouling very early. So a lot more possessions than usual in final two minutes. On top of that the Lakers scored on every possession. Not a fix, imo.

Thanks DHorse much appreciated... You may be right about your opinion but I just find it odd that LA would foul with 9 sec. to go DOWN BY 9.. I just do see that in the NBA very much and they didn't even take a T.O. to advance the ball after the FT's... LA also didn't foul after KBryants three which I believe put it over...

True about the 9 second foul. But look who fouled. Smush Parker, known for his dumb plays. I vaguely remember the Lakers looking at him strangely for fouling there. He may have wanted the over, but the high score was a combination of factors. The Suns were happy to take the free trips to the line and didn't really defend too much. So the Lakers were able to score on every possession. The third ingredient may have been the hot blood between these two teams; and a lack of cool thinking. Why did Kobe even take the final shot? The game was over, the total was over, and still he didn't dribble out the clock.

I was on the under in a game between Sacramento and, I think, the T-Wolves some years back. They scored 27 or so pts in the final two minutes. Slow torture; you can't believe it's happening, but you know it will come to its inevitable conclusion.
