Make the forum better: Get SBR Points

ok i'll go first. that is a nice idea.

but you didn't tell us HOW to do this. do we send a pm? to which mod? how do we know which mod is on duty?
should we use the red triangle exclamation point instead?

I hope those questions will better this forum

Bill, I'm gonna throw something out there mainly because mainly I think it's a decent idea and partially because I like to read myself.

One of the real problems here or any forum is there always seems to be varying tolerance levels. Certain posters get away with more than others. I myself have at times been given a pass because a moderator assumed I wasn't being an ass or whatever. Moderators are left to their or accord to decide what fits and what doesn't.

Why wouldn't you or whoever sticky a set of real rules that apply to each forum. With in print rules two things happen. Moderators don't have to use their judgement and this takes away any potential problems for showing favortism. Secondly it actually makes the poster more accountable for themselves. Now all you have to do is record the number of times a poster breaks the rules and impose varying point infractions or worse. Details can be worked out to fit but the main thing is it takes objectivity out of play.

None of this is to imply that Mods don't understand their jobs or intentionally treat posters differently. It's only natural though that anyone can become friendly with certain posters and mean too or not not treat everyone the same.

Bill, I think it is a great idea to clean up the handicapping section. Instead of tossing all the threads into the Players Talk section you should have other sub forums for each sport. Like have NFL handicapping section and a NFL talk section. The Players talk section will not be as congested than and we can than have sections dedicated to each sport for just talk.
