    NFL coaches should play Madden
Case in point although you see this ALL the time.

Jets have the ball 3rd and 5 with a buck :50 to go. Anyone want to guess what the frigging play will be??? Did you say run?? A-fvcking-mazing. So why is San Diego in their base defense with both safetys playing 7 yards deep??

In Madden of course you put in the goal line defense and make them throw.

Now lets move on to 4th down and a short two. Anyone want to guess the play call? I mean seriously any kid who plays Madden knows what defense to go into. Yet there is SD with two safetys out there 7 yards deep. I would take out both safteys and the middle line backer and go with 7 defensive linemen, 2 lb's and 2 corners. If they want to throw, ok great but dont let them end the game without a fight!

Given Sanchez is a rookie QB playing the biggest game of his life, I'd rather put the ball in his hands and make him throw it. If he makes the play, fine. I lose. But my guess is he will be told not to make any mistakes making the chance of an incompletion greater. Allowing it to get to Thomas Jones was idiotic.

That said, I'm not sure moving the safeties would have made any difference considering how the Chargers corners were lining up. How many times did we see the corners at least 10 yards off the ball on 3rd and 7 to 10? That pass was wide open all afternoon for Sanchez. If the Chargers run that coverage on that last 3rd down with the safeties up, Jets still are likely getting the first down.

I understand John's point completely, I am constantly in awe of the coaching decisions made by NFL head coaches. Norv Turner giving the game away with an onside kick when if they would have kicked it deep, they would have gotten the ball back close to midfield with 1:20 on the clock and not only an almost guaranteed FG to tie it, but a good chance to score a TD to win. That is the tip of the iceberg, it is dumbfounding how stupid the decision makers are on the sidelines game after game, especially at the end of the half and the end of games. Clock management is laughable.

How do you know they would've stopped them and not let em get a first down? He knew they couldn't stop their running game

They stopped them on the last drive, the Jets only got the first down because they went for it on 4th down. The Jets would have punted had they been on their own 29 yard line, they would have never gone for it on 4th down there.

Its one thing to have 8 in the box, its another to have 10.

They would have dam sure stopped the run with 7 defensive linemen end there. That way you got a lineman over every offensive lineman. There is no where to go. The Jets would be basically taking a knee if they tried to run and they certainly were not letting Sanchez throw.
