Anybody use a company to repair your credit? I'm thinking about using ecreditattorney.com. Any success stories or horror stories? Any advice? I need to my credit.
Do a little more research. There are only a handful of debt management companies out there worth a shit.
Credit "repair" is really about managing your debt in the best possible way to improve your credit score. You gotta figure out what you really want in the future before making any commitments. A good debt management company can lower all of your credit card interest rates by 8 to 20% for a nominal monthly fee. Check into moneymanagement.org. They are one of the good ones.

Got in trouble 4 years ago when I switched jobs. To much debt but now I have everything under control but I have a few cards still in collections. I would settle with them but from what I read it hurts your score even more when you do that.

why would it hurt your credit even more to settle up with them? That doesn't make any sense... I've never heard such a thing before.

Becuase you failed to meet the obligations of the debt. You either pay or you don't pay. I think settling just gets them off you back legally...ask Mr. Landers

it hurts your credit because you must be delinquent on your accounts to settle. Tha in and of itself is a knock on your score...BUT, the trade off is worth it more often than not. Nothing is free.
1st and Ten, i know a thing or two about credit, i Don't advocate the double doup, just letting people know whats "possible"
