Norv Turner made the right call on the onside kick.
All I've been hearing from all the experts is that he should have kicked deep. I cannot disagree more. The onside kick gave them the best chance of getting the ball back.

If they kick deep, they need to stop them from getting a 1st down. If they onside kick, they either recover at around their own 40, or they need to stop them from getting a 1st down. They might lose field position by doing an onside kick, but they add a 10-15% chance of getting the ball outright at around their 40, and would then still have the 2 minute warning and a time out. They would actually be in good position to go for the TD and the win instead of just a tying FG.

Usually, when all the analysts unanimously agree on something, there's a good chance their wrong.

The play that really killed the Chargers at the end was on 3rd and 6. Knowing the Jets would run, they still gave up 5 yards, to set up 4th and 1. If they held them to a 2 or 3 yard gain instead of 5, who knows what Ryan would have done.

I blame Norv for letting the Chargers get into that situation in the first place. But you're right....kick deep or onside kick..they still needed a stop

I completely agree, Turner did a lot of things wrong yesterday, but that decision wasn't one of them.
