less than 48 hours into my first deposit in 2010
..it's time to take a break.

I'll still be posting here and logging to get my debt paid and check repayments.

The way 2010 started, I think this could be a year I finally learn gambling is a no-no for me.

    BOL everyone.

I dont know how old you are or how long you have been doing this JA....But believe me, every gambler goes through it.....Some of the professionals had to go through some tough years of going broke I bet. One time I lost 5k in one week JA.....I wanted to kill myself, said I would never bet another game in my life, yada yada yada. Its a marathon not a sprint. Take a mental break, get your money straight and come back even smarter and wiser. We will still be here when ya get back Wish you the best sir

Thank you very much guys for the kind words and encouragement.

I am far from broke or having to pay a bookie without the money, problem is - the thought of me losing so much quickly, and depositing multiple times a year - does make me question my self-control and discipline, much like my first years in poker.

What I bet and deposit into my online betting amount is really peanuts considering what I make. I am not saying this to brag, I am saying this in shame - had I just been patient and calm - I would be betting nicer amounts today.

I appreciate all of your great responses, but please don't feel sorry for me. I had it coming and I deserved every bit of it. I'm not in a hole, I'm far from a hole. But being young and losing my deposits this fast - makes you question where you're gonna end in 20 years...

              Thanks again guys,
              John Anthony

John Anthony, I'm not like others. I say if you feel like it may be best to walk away then I say follow your head. There are plenty of things in life we can find enjoyment in. Some of those things don't have the ups and downs that gambling does. You know you better than anyone one else. You know what you can handle and what just isn't for you. If you have it in your head to walk away then do it and don't look back. No man is less of a man for knowing his limits or deciding something just isn't for him.

Goodluck to you in whatever you decide in the future. Look forward to you continuing to post and contribute even if you aren't in action. For the record this is not a down with gambling post, it's a props to the power of self awareness post.

Wal is right. Take a break if you feel the need. What I like about you is that I`ve never read you put anyone down, in fact you are positive and encourage others. I have not read every single post of John`s, so if I am wrong, please let it be. Good luck Bro, you will be OK if for no other reason...karma. Peace

Always great to get your input Wal, love the different perspective as I think I may need to adopt one and that will help me even if I decide to continue with gambling. Thanks again.

I'm never afraid of speaking what comes to my well-made-overused-mind, so I appreciate it if you're letting it be. It's just that I'd rather give people credit more often that not when things are in question. Nobody loves losing and it's part of the game (at least 40% if you're that good), when a guy goes to sleep on red 3-4 out of 7 nights a week, I think it's fair to help him feel relaxed and confident, at least before the action is over. Thanks PP, and best of luck.

My signature is not up to date. The threads themselves are. I will go fix that now, thanks for the notice.

I got destroyed on Sunday, one of the worst gambling days I have had in years. I like the action and I love to bet on sports. I have great days and some real bad ones, On Sunday, I had a sickening taste in my mouth to how much I lost. I just move on to the next day... I bet with amounts of money where it's not going to make a difference in my life one way or the other but it's always nice to win. I do well financially so I am able to have fun in this hobby. Mazel my friend.
