1) philip rivers gets hurt (he is the only indispensable charger player)

2) chargers go -3 in turnovers (essentially handing the gm to the jets)

without either of these 2 things happening, the jets have NO CHANCE to beat the chargers

too many things going against the jets here in this spot

One big factor is the LaDainian T. has gone from a yard gaining machine (like AP) into a clutch running back. He comes through in critical situations now, like he didn't 5 years ago. Watch LT get some key touchdowns to grab the game.

LT can still be productive when he needs to be, especially if he gets into a rhythm, but right now he's mostly a weapon on the goal-line. Goal-line TDs are his specialty.

As far as the game, I would love nothing more than a complete 3TD+ blowout of the Jets, but it will be hard to do this against the #1 defense in the league. I think the Chargers win this one by 7.

Completely agree....the Jets had big luck to start the playoff against CIN, but SDG is a new tale...and will be a nigthmare for the Jets.

The only chance for them IF the SDG D will completely fall apart, but I cannot see them playing that bad what Rivers couldn't easily solve....

Chargers win but Jets cover the spread. Jets defense is amazing, only 8 TD passes against them all season, thats the best in the NFL. Throw in a rookie QB against a Jets defense oozing confidence and I see a game closer than a lot of people think. Chargers by 3

Jets have gone as far as they can, SD will pass all over them, Jets corners are too short to defend SD tall recievers, Rivers will have a field day passing, the only chance Jets have is to run run run and keep the ball away from Rivers

I think the Chargers cover. The Jets were lucky to get in the playoffs. They should have lost to the Colts if they didn't lay down after the half & then they beat an overrated Cinncy team twice. Where the Chargers have a big advantage is Rivers & Gates. The Jets do not have an answer for Gates. He will have a huge game today. Bottom line is the Chargers will go up early & force the Jets to get away from their running game putting the game on Sanchez. If that happens he will not be able to handle the pressure. Don't over analyze the game & take the Chargers.

Look for a low scoring game. The Jets will try to win with ball control. The Chargers will mix it up a bit more, but with their crappy playoff record, just want to escape with a win. I'm looking at 24-13, or 27-14 Chargers. Something like that. Like yesterday's menu, this will be the most boring of the two games scheduled. The NFC game will be a lot more exciting.
