Finally, match fixing in Spanish La liga
Athletic Bilbao vs Real Madrid just finished 1:0
What is shocking here that all the game looked like it was a setup from the beginning, Real Madrid players were not motivated to score and when were close to score a goal just missed. All free kicks by Real Madrid were just show, nobody even wanted to score. And in the 95th minute (regular time plus 5) Athletic Bilbao player received a red card to make this game look better. Arbiters were paid bribes as well to help fix the match. Never before Real had lost against Athletic, Real is N2 in the Spanish League, Athletic is N7. When before Real played against such teams it was scoring like crazy minute after minute, often over 4 goals against such a weak team.
bwin is a major sponsor of Real Madrid and I am quite sure the fixing originetad from them, think when odds started like 1.40 for Real and 7.00 for Athletic and 4.00 for X who would ever place a bet on Athletic? And even if such bets are placed usually this are low value bets, while for Real Madrid millions of euros are placed when they play against such a second tier teams.
Clearly Bwin was involved in the match fixing, I didn't had any bet on this game but I imagine how many accounts Bwin broke today.

Given that the financial difference between winning La Liga and finishing second is estimated at EUR 30-40 million, I highly doubt your proposition.

      Teams have off-days.

I agree with one side of this coin you show, but on the other Real Madrid losing only by 1 point didn't lose any rating at this time, after Athletic scored this 1 goal, Real made a defence tough but they simply didn't wanted to score then, just playing like this 1:0 was all they were told to do.
Pity I don't know how many millions $$$ bookmakers made on this one match, but I am somehow sure it was in millions $$$ as well. I posted this thread to see opinions from experts, but if anybody want to say there is no match fixing, he must be silly or newborn. Yearly match fixing in different sports is estimated at billions $$$$$, not millions $$$.

          lol
upsets happen, no way they would fix a game , 90 % of real players have multi million dollar contracts, you think they are going to fix a game for a few thousand dollar,

You are right and wrong, Spanish La Liga is same as English Premier League, Bundes Liga or any other major European league, millions of $$$ are placed during such games and when Real Madrid play, stadium is always 100% occupied. In this game I describe 99% of bets were for Real Madrid and all of it was cleared and clean in the end. I see you must be American with little knowledge of our, European football leagues.

Hardly fixed. DUE is probably more like it. Real has been a pretty average road side all season.

You are 100% right, me either. I bet for fun and to entertainment and in the name of the game, when we bet on sports, it's different from just watching, it's watching in action.
My hobby is not so cheap, I have lost since 2008 over 12,000EUR altogether, including casino games.
But I had a lot of fun doing it. People who want to make a living from Sports betting must be...
I love to win just like anybody, but when I lose it's still a winning because I have fun and my adrenaline level is just right.

                    Reply to EaglePhan36,

I watched most of Real Madrid games in the last year, they never lost against no one except FC Barcelona who took the La Liga Cup few month ago by winning against Real 1:0.
Besides in any crime, detectives from Scotland Yard to the street cop in Bronx, before searching for clue to crime, first look at motivation why any such crime was committed.
For Bwin there is clear motivation for Real Madrid to lose vs Athletic Bilbao (N8 it was in the Spanish Premier League just yesterday!!!) and it's financial motivation, very simple.
When big bookmaker sponsor any major league team, the conflict of interest will be always present.
All previous such games Real Madrid won with many goals over such second and third tier team which Athletic Bilbao is clearly is. Look in the last 10-20 games Real Madrid played against any other team, the never lost or finished even, and when the opponent team was losing but scoring as well, the number of total goals was always over 3.5.

They had some lackluster draws on the road though to Gijon & Osasuna and that Osasuna one kicked off the new year. They didn't have any sort of great form that shows this to be anything but a stupid loss by a talented team that sometimes doesn't show up.

                        Reply to all,

FC Barcelona just finished vs Sevilla FC and of course Barcelona won 4:0
Barcelona is N1 in the league and Sevilla N5, this results prove once again that Real Madrid (N2) vs Athletic Bilbao (N7) was a fixed match by Bwin and Real lost 1:0 instead of winning just as before with over 3 goals against this very weak team. Be very careful placing next bets on Real Madrid.
I rate Bwin D by the way or book in default.
                        Have best weekend everybody.
