                  What's that mean?

Top 10 list of black QB's? Every black QB who played. Has there been 10? I sure don't think there's more than 1 or 2 that belong in the top 10 of qb's. Moon & McNabb are the best 2 there's been & I can't see them in top 10 best of all time.
Moon was really good but didn't leave that big of a legacy.

It's not a race thing it's a #'s thing! Like trying to put eminem in the top 10 greatest hip-hop artists of all time. He's good, but there's a whole bunch better!

no Rooney rule on this list. Fact is Black QB's haven't had the opportunity for many many years. Only recently have we seen Black qb's. Moon, Cunningham, Mcnair, those are really the only good good qb's from that come to my mind. But are they top 10? top 25? Moon I'd say is arguably in the top 10-15

The only way I don't see it happening is if he gets traded, hurt, or leaves the game early. To me it seems like he might retire a little on the early side..it's a wise thing to do, and he is oh so wise.

Jim Kelly is not getting much love. Roger 'The Dodger' Staubach is number 2 imo. Steve Young was great and he is left off a few too.

                            OTTO GRAHAM (Cleveland 1946-55)
                            Best NFL season (1953): 167 for 258 (64.7%), 2,722 yards, 10.6 YPA, 11 TD, 9 INT, 99.7 passer rating
                            Career (includes AAFC career): 1,464 for 2,626 (55.8%), 23,584 yards, 9.0 YPA, 174 TD, 135 INT, 86.6 passer rating
                            Championships: AAFC 1946-49; NFL 1950, 1954, 1955
Overview: Otto Graham was Tom Brady before Tom Brady, putting up gaudy numbers for his time while winning games and championships at an unprecedented rate. He led the Browns to a championship in all four years of the AAFC’s existence (1946-49). But he and the Browns proved they belonged in the big leagues by capturing the NFL title in their first year in the league.

In fact, they’d go on to set a record that still stands, appearing in six straight NFL championship games from 1950 to 1955, winning three of them. Bottom line: Graham played in a pro football championship game every single season of his 10-year career, winning seven of them in two different leagues.

He also set passing marks that stood for decades. His 86.6 passer rating, for example, is the top mark of the pre-Live Ball Era. And his career 9.0 YPA is No. 1 by a sizable margin.

So why, then, isn’t Graham higher on the list?

His four years in the AAFC make for some awkward comparisons. There’s every reason to believe the Browns would have been a dominant NFL team over those four years, but little reason to believe they would have won four straight championships. Graham’s numbers also declined pretty noticeably when he went to the NFL, from simply unbelievable to merely spectacular. His career 9.0 YPA average, for example, drops to 8.63 if we look only at his NFL numbers. Of course, that 8.63 YPA mark is the best in NFL history, too.

The full measure of Graham’s impact is this: the organization has never recovered from his departure at the end of the 1955 season. Sure, they remained competitive through the Jim Brown years (1957-65), winning a championship in 1964.

But that’s the only championship the organization won since Graham last took a snap for the Browns.
Grux knows football, it's meaningful stats, and history.

...rest of you guys are clowns.

if im not mistaken the question is who is the best quaterback, not who who quaterbacked the best teams, if so Marino is the best quaterback. Granted he never won a super bowl but there is no athlete in all the major sports who did more with the amount of talent. Lebron James is the only GREAT that comes close to doing more with less and hes 1 of of 5 players not one of 33. My list

                              1. Dan Marino
                              2. Peyton Manning
                              3. Joe Montana

                              7. Otto Graham
                              8. Tom Brady

                                What determines a top QB????

                                Is it stats????

                                Is it wins????

                                Is it MVP wins????

Is it playoff and SB wins????

i think that this needs to be determined first

First here are NFL career passer ratings

                                Rank Quarterback Passer Rating 1 Steve Young 96.8 2 Philip Rivers 95.8 3 Tony Romo 95.6 4 Peyton Manning 95.2 5 Kurt Warner 93.7 6 Tom Brady 93.3 7 Joe Montana 92.3 8 Drew Brees 91.9 9 Ben Roethlisberger 91.7 10 Chad Pennington 90.1

It was a generational thing. I knew I'd have one new school and one old school QB in my top 2. I had Montana as the best of the new school QB's, and was debating between Graham, Baugh, Unitas, and Starr as the best of the old school QB's. I ended up going with Baugh because his numbers were... Ruthian when compared to his peers. Honestly, a case can be made for any of the four I mentioned to be the best of their era.

Granted he never won a super bowl but there is no athlete in all the major sports who did more with the amount of talent. Lebron James is the only GREAT that comes close to doing more with less and hes 1 of of 5 players not one of 33. My list 1. Dan Marino 2. Peyton Manning 3. Joe Montana 4. Brett Farve 5. Johnny Unitas 6. Bart Starr 7. Otto Graham 8. Tom Brady 9. Steve Young 10. Kurt Warner
This is a very respectable list for several reasons. The quarterbacks are true passers and winners, Marino definitely one of the most underrated qbs of all time. Steve Young should be a bit higher and I'd put Starr and Graham a bit lower because they didn't have to deal with defenses that are designed to stop the pass like today...

can't do it using only stats. the old time qb's are at a severe disadvantage there due to style and # of games in a season. back in the day Joe Namath become the first NFL qb to pass for over 4,000 yards in a season. No one duplicated until 10 years later. Today about a dozen guys have 4,000 yards passing this year
