I have done had it with HBO even though their boxing and a few other things are good.
I like subscribing to the premium channels when they give close to their cost back as sort of a trial offer for 3 months of service.I figured what the heck,if you pay 3X $12 plus tax for 3 months of Showtime,Cinemax or Starz and then wait for 6 weeks to get a $25 rebate where it's not a bad deal.

So I strayed from that pattern and subscribed to HBO because they were running the beginning of the last season of the Sopranos again and they had Saturday boxing on each week the past few etc.Everyone said that the 40 year old virgin was hilarious and I thought it was average. There were a handful of other movies that were decent.

I'm not a prude and don't mind nudity and foul language when it's part of the plot or if a movie is hilarious to use it in certain scenes etc.I just found HBO to be putting out stupid shock value movies that just 15-26 year olds like so I pulled the plug after a few weeks.I sort of did a test and scanned the HBO movies and at the same time Prairie Home Companion was on so was Rosie O'Donnel's gay cruise on HBO Family of all places and then there was Jane Fonda on another movie and Barbra Streisand in Yentel on another friggin channel of their's.I practically barfed!!!!!!!!!Garrison Keilor,Meryl Streep,Jane Fonda,Barbra Streisand and Rosie O'Donnel all on an agenda at the same time overloaded my circuitry!!!!Where do they get program directors?????????

Then once or twice a year they give you free preview weekends of their channels and they always run great movies one after another like Cindarella Man,Rounders,The Stu Unger story,Boiler Room,Bookies etc.etc.It's like they bait normal guys in with that stuff and then they go feminine, gay agenda and totally left wing when you subscribe.

Yeh, the Rosie cruise on the Family channel made me raise an eyebrow. I generally like HBO, but, like you said, alot of stuff from the left is on there.

showtime runs Penn and Teller's "bullsh*t" which is good. I'm not sure if it should be considered "right wing" but it all makes a lot of sense and is anti main-stream so it's def not "left wing"

I could care less about the movies. HBO is must get for me for the series. The Wire, Entourage, Lucky Louie, and Big Love are all still in production and great shows. Sopranos, Deadwood, and Rome all retired but good. Boxing for me is iceing on the cake. And Real Sports is the best magazine sports style show on TV bar none. Movies, forget about it.
