I guess I would consider myself a rookie here, I agree 100% with wal, If you place yourself in a position of authority you are only as legitimate as your equality. If you ban some people for things then let select others get away with the same thing or worse, then the authority is lower than the people he banned........Where rules apply it should be all or none, the same for all.....

This ideal only seems applicable when you are a rookie. It's OK, I'll give a few weeks to learn how things work in places like this one. It is only natural.

Of course. I didn't imply that in an idyll this wouldn't work, nor did I state any disagreement with what you wrote. But as you and I currently live in the real world and post in the real SBR forum, what you and other fellas here are asking for is simply unrealistic. That's all.

They aren't coming back Bean, They have found a new home and are settling in. A little adjusting due to the old crowd not liking the invassion but things are working themselves out. Peep is mediating.

I just had a quick glance at Peeps, Wal and without exageration 75% of the posts the "dirty thirty" make are about SBR. I agree that SBR has lost some good posters (a couple of bad ones too) and I also agree that the new policies here appear to be arbitary but I don´t see what is to be gained by going over it again and again.

You are one of the posters least likely to fall foul of whatever rules now exist on mudslinging and abuse.

There are still very good posters here (not so much in PT) and the ´extras´ offered by SBR surely outweigh the bad points. There are a few idiots on any forum, I could not care less if they get infractions, banned or let off the hook, just ignore them.

JohnAnthony, I know you are right. I also know this is JUST an online forum. Principles are what they are though. Regardless if it's a realworld situation or a virtual community all we have is what we beleive is right. If no-one ever fought for what they beleive in where would we be today? Doesn't mean some of those fights are worth the effort to the masses, it is right to the person/persons in the fight. Doesn't mean the fight is one the person/persons is combating can be won but it has to be fought. At the end of our days all we have is what we were and what we stood for. Right, wrong, real or whatever.

Wally, I agree with your sentiments. SBR John and I have exchanged some nice PMs. Like I told him, feel free to look through my history here and find where I attmept to flaunt the rules. I think I have started between 15 and 20 threads total in over 2 years. I have learned a lot from the people here. Yes, I love to have fun and will makes jokes at other people. I admit that. But the only time I ever get on my soapbox is when I see something that I consider to be unfair. I wouldn't be much of a human being if I didn't speak out then.
