I have always bought american cars mostly because I come from a strong steel workers union area and I don't want a no neck Tony Soprano to slash my foreign car tires, break my outdoor antique yard lamp, kill my dog or burn my cabin down. These steel worker union types put bumper stickers on their cars that read,Hungry?Eat your foreign car!Now the iron mines where they all work are partially owned by the Chinese government where our federal, state and local government subsidises the plants.
To make a long story short,I take very, very good care of my cars with great maintenance.Nevertheless, all the american cars I buy have glaring problems where depending on the make, you can depend on that make having certain problems. With my Ford Taurus it's the heating and air conditioning fan unit.Under warranty it went out 4 times at the worst moments in either unbelievable heat or in snow blizzards where the defrost was burnt out. Each time I paid the $100 deductible to get it fixed. So now that it's not under warranty anymore it has burnt out two more times where I had to pay full price to get it repaired.I even paid an extra $100 for the dealer to put a water shield near the unit to protect it.
When I complain to Ford that it's an engineering flaw on the car and it's not a coincidence where it keeps burning out do you think Ford shows any concern where they will reimburse me?Hell no!!They are too busy running a health insurance company for their employees to worry about workmanship! They are an employee social service-insurance provider that just so happens to make shit cars!!!!!!!It's fitting that Phil Michelson is their spokesman and uses more of their money to run some friggin charity scam where the money from the charity should be put into making better cars.Whenever I try to get ahold of someone who can remedy the problem with either getting the car deemed an unrepairable lemmon or to get reimbursed they have some dolt woman public relations pantsuit with an education who thinks she arrived living in an apartment in the sky in the upper east side who knows nothing about cars get back to me with zero answers!
Has anyone here ever driven a Taurus?I'm 6'-2'' and have long arms and it's an impossible reach to close the door.If some little shrunken 4'-9'' granny had that car she could never close the door. That's another engineering flaw!!
I'm tired of excuses for bad american made product workmanship!I'm a loyal american buyer but will think nothing of buying foreign made big ticket durable goods in the future!Bush better shrink our dollar to a penny so all of our american made junk can be exported cheap where some sucker outside the U.S.A.will buy it!
