My GF was saying how bad it looks from pictures she has seen and articles she read etc. My retort was, the place was not a nice place to live prior to the quake. Regardless, it is a terrible situation and I hope all the planned aid can get to the people who need it in a timely manner. It is going to get worse before it gets better down there, bring on the riots and crime waves.

Sorry buddy, but every homeless American isn't due to their own stupidity.. To think that shows your stupidity.. You think they take a job expecting to get laid off?. Or that disabled people cause their accidents on purpose?. There are still people affected by Katrina, that too is a disaster they couldn't control.. I'm not trying to argue or be a dick, i just think America should do a better job of taking care of their own instead of trying to fix the rest of the world.. Especially some 3rd world country whose people didn't seem to care about bettering themselves before this happened..

He discouraged money being sent to government relief agencies because the government bureaucracies usually waste it.

Rush encouraged donating through reputible agencies...like Red Cross, Salvation Army, etc.

His point was if you want to donate, make your donation count!

Biden is on right now wanting you to donate to www.whitehouse.gov. This is exactly what Rush was warning people about!

People who are being foreclosed brought it on themselves due to their own stupidity signing contracts to loans that they were never going to be able to pay.

These are the idiots responsible for the downfall of the American economy. The only "help" they need is proper education.

To compare the loss of their homes (especially when many are simply walking away) to the loss of others due to a natural disaster is laughable.

You are correct but the structures here are built much better and stronger. No doubt when a big one hits, it will be a disaster here but things are built much better in Califas.

I read the other day that they said in 2008 that about 60% of the structures there were ruled unsafe. It's such a shame what those people are going through right now. I couldn't even imagine. A co-worker of mine has family there. She hasn't been to work since it happened. I'm keeping her and everyone affected in my prayers.

My nephew's wife has relatives in Haiti that are unaccounted for and are presumed dead. I feel her pain and hope that the story has a happy ending for her and her family...someday

Haiti is the poorest nation in the Western Hemisphere I guess, so I bet it was just a minor earthquake (like 5.5 or something). I mean how come 7 8.0 quakes only hit in 3rd world citys
