If you really care about cleaning up Players Talk make a new forum so people can post their 3 posts for the day to get the 4 points. This will clean up all the clutter in good PT threads.

#2The clutter is actually far more insidious under the new regulation, Pavy. Now people can concoct one or two sentences that add nothing to the discussion but under cursory examination appear to remain relevant to the conversation. I liked it better with the smileys, they were easier to recognize as points posts and could be moved past.
SBR wants all the deadbeats they can get, but then when they act true to character they get unhappy. Of course people that were lured here for the points aren't here to contribute good information/thought to the forum itself. People that want to contribute to a forum join one without all the garbage that the points system brings with it. SBR just needs to accept that this is what they get now.Originally posted by StraitShooter90% of the guys dont give a shit about your problems..and the other 10 are glad you have them..Comment -

#3Agreed RS. If someone is not interested to contribute to the forum he will make up whatever useless posts he wants to get the 3 points and therefore waste forum space. What's needed is a structured points reward system.
For example:
1-100 posts - 1 point rewarded daily
101-500 posts - 2 points rewarded daily
501-2000 posts - 3 points rewarded daily
2001-5000 posts - 4 points rewarded daily
5001 posts or more - 0 points rewarded daily (if you want points from being here after 5000 posts then you need to re-examine your priorities in life)Comment -

#4Wow Pavy, that's freakin' genius! No wonder you got the hooker at the Bash. I'm not sure about no points daily after 5k posts, though. I think it's disrespectful to long-term posters, the points should just plateau at 4 per day after your 4,000th post. Something like this (and let's get rid of the posting requirement at 4,000 too, once you've made that many posts asking you to do it daily for points is silly):
1-500 posts: 1 point for first (second, or third) post of the day
501-1,000 posts: 2 points...
1,001-2,999 posts: 3 points...
3,000-3,999 posts: 4 points...
4,000+ posts: You just get your 6 points daily for logging on, no post requirement. After 4,000 posts you're gonna stick around, somedays will involve a dozen great posts, other days there's nothing that really warrants a comment from you. SBR should trust us at this point.Originally posted by StraitShooter90% of the guys dont give a shit about your problems..and the other 10 are glad you have them..Comment -

#5pavy I disagree with 5,000 or more because in time most of us will have 5,000 posts. Look you have over 25,000 posts. I just say at 5,000 or more you get your 6 points per a day.Comment -

So the 5,000 post posters get all their rewards at once instead of throughout the year.Comment -

#9Originally posted by pavyracerPosters with 5000 posts or more get other freebies. If you went to the Bash last year you would have gotten free airfare to Vegas, free room for 2 days, free prices, free poker entry to $2,000 tourney, free food, free alcohol, and a free backpack loaded with stuff from SBR Store worth at least 2000 points.

#15Not trying to step on any toes, but I see people with over 5,000 posts just post pure shit day in and day out. So, its not just the ones trying to get cheap points.
I enjoy the really well thought posts and the hi-jinx as much as anyone, but I can do without 2/3 of the crap that has been on PT and PZ the last month or so.
I am new here and trying to get the feel of things. I can tell the people that contribute to the community and the ones that are here because they have no life. The question is how do you separate the two and do you really want to?Comment -

#16Originally posted by tblues2005Some of us couldn't go to that the past two years because of events that happened during then. I couldn't go because my mom had some bad health problems that needed my attention and last year I had some things done. I am getting close to that 5,000 mark and I just think you don't have a very good idea on this at all. Some of us may not be able to do that because of other commitments. If you were saying something like 50,000 then it would be different with me.Comment -

I might be there this year, shouldn't expect more treats than a 100 post walk-in.
Thanks for clearing that up.Comment -
