Just wanted to ask why the NBA threads are being moved to players talk?? I think I know why. Recently, it has become apparent that the leadership at SBR has been on the mission to clean up the players talk act.

The NBA forum is a valuable forum and doesn't need it's threads junked up and cluttered by players talk contriubutors. The players talk crowd is a rough and rowdy crowd and the majority of the members have nothing positive to contribute to the NBA handicapping threads.

Basically, as I see it SBR is shoving unwanted NBA handicapping threads down the throats of Players Talks members in hopes of getting them to change their act. The NBA threads are valuable and have many valuable contributors in that sub-forum

On the flip side SBR is giving unwanted attention to the NBA threads to a rough and rowdy crowd. Players Talk is a complete circus act.

We don't see SBR moving players talk originated threads to the sub-forums... Thankfully I might add.

In short... Please keep things as they were. If it's not broke don't fix it.

75% of players talk members are not interested in the NBA threads and the one's commenting in them are just cluttering them with jibberish.

Yeah, I never understood why everything is thrown into Player's Talk. More page impressions I guess, but Player's Talk is the armpit of SBR. Best to keep anything of value out of there.

I tend to agree here. However, there were threads (most involving a certain poster) in the NBA subforum that earned many posters (myself included) warnings and/or infractions because inconsistencies in this user's picks/claims were point out and apparently none of that type of discussion can occur in the NBA subforum. If these threads were in PT then there would have no repercussions at all, so I'm torn here.

Threads aren't moved out of any sports forums. Moderators use a feature that enables them to create a 'mirror' of the thread in both PT and the sports forum. This is only done when the thread is considered to be one of high quality, so it's actually a thumbs up.

Yeah I realize this is how it is supposed to be, but it doesn't seem to be moderated in this manner. I get warnings in the NBA subforum when I suggest that a user's $2k "locks" aren't for real, yet I see many personal attacks/racial comments/swears in the PT subforum without moderation. Unless baseless attacks are being made or there are comments that are offensive to the vast majority of posters, I don't understand why they should be removed.

I think many of you, especially Lou, are missing the point.

Whether they are moved or "mirrored," Lyon does not want his NBA threads in players talk for the rubes here to clutter them up with useless babble.

While moving/mirroring these threads into players talk may be meant as a compliment, it ends up being counterproductive to the thread itself. They now have to sift through unwanted responses they would not have otherwise gotten had the thread not been moved/mirrored in the first place.

The reality is, now that the few posters with anything intelligent to say in players talk have been chased off or banned, SBR needs to move these threads to players talk in order to make it look like it is just as relavent as before.

I feel bad for guys like lyon who are now affected by this mess that they had nothing to do with.

FTR, There were more threads being mirrored prior to the incident with some posters leaving or whatever. The Slinking is not in any way a reflection of any recent event. Thanks for the input though. I do understand where you are coming from on this subject.

A courtesy PM by the mod considering to link a thread would solve the problem. If the thread creator don't want the thread to be linked it shouldn't.

I have quite the opposite problem. My threads in PT are linked to the individual sport forums. If I wanted to post them in there I know how to do it.

you clearly think im beneficial to this forum and so does SBR..they put my thread in the players talk forum and it never goes below the first 10 posts since so many people are viewing it and posting replies and responses to my posts

..you keep coming back to comment on posts in my threads. if i remember you thought I was a little kid who was posting lies about my bets. I did lose a lot of money recently and i am building back up.

I would appreciate if you were a bit nicer. I do not go to your threads or your wierd contest in which you provide people to place a bet with you just for record keeping.
