Could be dangerous, could be profitable. But in all seriousness. Say i have roughly 250k, would that be enough to be a small time bookmaker?

#7Originally posted by lakerboyyou need to up the limits. my locals have 25000 limits on sides and 10000 on totals. if you bet 5000 or more with them you need to be in attendance . they have over 250 clients and they they tell me they get 75-100 bets per week over 5000 and 5-6 a month over 20000.Comment -

#11I used to be a bookie. Started out with very little bankroll. Very small time though only about 100 clients $1000 max. The key is to make money, you don't need a bankroll for that LoL!Comment -

You will end up in prison, simply not worth it unless your prepared to kill and shoot people for non paymentComment -

#13Local bookies are now doing their booking on websites as its easier to balance and keep track of bets. BUT just make sure you don't make a mikey mouse site where your smart computer wise players can find a way to manipulate your website. That would suck.Comment -

#15Yeah man. This is a losing proposition in the long run. Use the 250k to invest in the market. Ladder some jumbo CDs, 20% remaining in fixed income, 80% remaining in equities. It ain't exciting but at least it is legal.Comment -

#17250k is plenty. One guy said get your limits high...huge mistake. Very sharp action and shot takers and an occasional whale are the only ones making big credit line bets. Now if you can make a guy post up then give him $50,000 limits and hedge out what he does with Betfair, Matchbook and Pinny.Comment
