Does JJ gold fade himself so that in other posters eyes it's ok to be a loser at gambling? Or does he make SBR money so he's on the payroll and doesn't care about gambling? I used to think JJ was a pro, but now he's like a lot of others, he doesn't care about anything but the coin...... Most athletes make more from endorsements than playing the game....... JJ is the same, he doesn't play he just is helping SBR with the new Programme.

#3IMHO JJ is a winning bettor but is also quite talented at playing the fool.
So in answer to your question, yes but I think he probably does make money from the gambling too.
FWIW, I thought today´s "Gambler of the Year" thread was disgraceful. This is a young kid we´re talking about, and one that appears to be in the early stages of a serious gambling problem.Comment -

#6Dunder, I could be completely wrong but I think much of Sammy's stuff is hype. It's almost like he is attempting to become the next JJ Gold. However that said I agree that praising the type of accomplishments such as borrowing, stealing or anything necessary to stay in the gambling game does send a negative message.
Casino's and other gambling establishments can say they support responsible gambling but the truth is as long as they are making money it matters little what the losrs are troubled with. JJ is the face of SBR and even joking as JJ was it still sheds a negative light on the very serious bad side of what some do.
As I said I truly think Sammy is playing it up. Unfortunately though there are those out there that are true degenerates and have serious addictions and are actually doing these things and more.Comment -

#11I know less about the people here than most because i haven't been fulltime but for just a little bit. I never lay claim that anything I say is anything more than just my perspective on things. That said though I see everything JJ does as an act. From the gambling losses to the various antics he gets up too.
Personally I like the guy and I allow myself to be entertained by him even though some of the material isn't something I would normally care for. I appreciate him in the aspect that he is dedicated to his craft and performs 24/7. However praising the degenerate side of this is just a poor choice. That's not to say that mocking it or glorifying himself as a degenerate is the same type of poor taste and again I repeat. This is my perspective and not saying anyone else agrees or sees it in the same light.Comment -

#14I don't "allow" myself to be entertained in that case Pavy. I allow myself to be entertained by JJ because as foolish as some of the material is at times the guy is dedicated to doing it. Kind of like the guys on Jackass. While I find the material to be stupid and idiotic I can't help but whatch just to see how far they will go.
There are many people here that in a normal setting I aould have nothing to do with but because of the environment and the commonality of the games I spend extra time trying to figure them out. While there are certain people here I would never waste an ounce of time trying to get to know any further, JJ is someone I would actually spend a day with and buy a drink just to see if he is capable of turning it off sometimes.Comment -

#17SBR works for the books, JJ works for SBR. The books make money when posters tail losing picks by SBR staffers. How many thousands of dollars tickets or I bet my right nut plays lose? I am sure that JJ has the skills to win, but why gamble when the books already pay you.Comment -

#25Amazingly enough Pavs I didn't. Being a fat fck myself I don't really share the same facination that everyone else around here has with people of my bulk.
Now the general will never answer my question though. It'll find total obscurity since you guys added visuals.Comment -
