Bullshit Jobs in NYC these days...Interviewing sucks
Ok i recently graduated College and i am applying to Law Schools now. But in the meantime i am trying to get a job in some Marketing Related field in Manhattan.

Ok so i apply for some jobs on Craigslist or whatever and one company, NY Partners, contacts me to come to an Interview on 34th street and 5th avenue, right near the Empire State building!

I am thinking i MADE it, to even get an interview with this place is GLORIOUS!!!

Turns outs its some 9th floor "office" that you have to enter through some Golf Store. Place is small as shit, i saw Mice complaining there was no room for them in there.

One woman makes me fill out info, the head guy interviews me, and i am filled with hope listening to his Bullshit about the company and the promotion opportunities and all in the company. He tells me if they like what they saw they will call me for ROUND 2 of the Interview which is a full day On the Job day with an "Executive". I like what i hear, i get the call when i get home and eagerly set up round 2 the next day.

Ok i get there and there are like 15 curious shits like me waiting for round 2 as well. I am like WTF, so many people?

Turns out everything he told me was bullshit and i was doing a Door to Door sales job selling Water machines with two poor shmucks who were the "'executives" in the coldest day in NYC History. Even worse i had to pay 10 bucks for NJ Transit as they sent us to Ghetto Town, in Newark NJ.

Spent all day with these saps and they didnt sell one damn machine, no money for them today but at least they got some new cases of the cold.

Please if you are a College Graduate or ANYONE with any sort of aspiration do not even go to the Interviews that NY Partners is constantly having.

As long as you have 2 legs and a suit they will offer you a job, DO NOT get sucked into taking an interview and getting your hopes up as i did.

Just for Shits on the final Interview, the next day i was saying the wrong thing about this company on purpose and they still wanted to hire me. I was asked "what are you going to bring to the company IF hired?" i said "well, on most mornings i will bring Tuna and Lox Sandwiches and on Thursday i will bring a Butternut Squash Muffin"

And just to show you what a horrible company this is, i was asked to come in and work for them....Stay the **** away from these sorts of scam shops!

Ok vent is officially over now

Clist is a good spot to look for jobs. Lotsa big names advertise on there anonymously. At least in this town.

I know what your talking about biggamer. A couple years ago right out of school, I had a similar experience with a company that advertised a job in the sports marketing industry. When I show up for round 2, they sent me out to a residential area with a salesmen trying to sign up customers for home improvements, such as new windows and roofs. As soon as he explained this to me in the car, I told him to turn his a$$ around and drop me off, interview over.

Where did you graduate from? What was your major? What was your GPA? What did you score on the LSAT? And how long can you commit before you go to law school?

Thanks for the heads up. I was actually looking for jobs yesterday and saw NY Partners. Good thing I have another year and half of college left! Job market still stinks.
