    [b]Vick Story Going To Be A Worldwide Story[/b ]

    JJ,
    Worldwide?

There are over 1 billion Chinese who have never heard of Mike Vick.

I'm not saying he's not in a whole bunch of trouble, but to say worldwide is a bit of a stretch, IMHO.

The story will be reported on outside of this country. I hope he gets the maximum sentence.

Has anyone read the indictment? There are parts that have Vick participating in the execution of dogs: by hanging, electrocution, drowning and finally just slamming them into the ground.

He also made sure the betting was paid out by acting as the bank.

The Fed jurisdiction in which this is being prosecuted, is the same folks who put Scooter Libby in jail. They have a 95% conviction rate on all cases that go to trial in that jurisdiction.

        Your done M.Vick.

As a 2 dog owner here, I hope he actually does some time. However, Id bet he pleas out to some thing lessor and doesnt do any time in prison.

Well, as an owner of 2 dogs myself, I agree capitalist, some time in the clink would be nice. Yeah, he probably will plead out.....they may want to see him do 6 months or a year.

These guys don't F!@# around, they have a solid case against him. Read the indictment, Mike Vick acts like a 5 time felon, I'm sure this guy is "into" other stuff than just dogfights.

If he's guilty or pleads out, I don't think they should ever let him suit up again.

Reality check - American Football isn't very popular outside of America. If the guy had gone on a shooting rampage killing 30 people, it would make worldwide news but that would be purely because of the incident rather than Vick himself. As it is, no-one else has any interest in Vick and hence no interest in what he has done. Although very unpleasant, it's hardly the crime of the century.

In the immortal words of Nate Neuton. "It's just a dog man".

What I'd like to know is what is going to happen to that local prosecutor for claiming there wasn't enough evidence in order to indite Vick. A lot of people are speculating that it was because he was black like Vick was, and he didn't want to convict the "home town hero".

After listening to some of the talking heads on TV this afternoon, apparently Vick's biggest problem will be the conspiracy charge. If the government can prove there was a conspiracy to do the other things they are accused of, then it sorta becomes the "hand of one is the hand of all" and there is a very real possibility that he could eventually do time. And in that case, the NFL will be the least of his problems.
